🌺 A sea of colour between the vines isn't just beautiful — it's a sign that nature is doing some of the heavy lifting.
This stunning display of poppies is more than just a beautiful sight.
Poppies are known as a pioneer species, often appearing where ground has been disturbed. They establish quickly and form part of a diverse cover crop community that brings multiple benefits to the vineyard.
As well as helping to suppress w**ds, their roots can help cycle nutrients from deeper soil layers, while their flowers provide valuable habitat and food sources for insects.
As regenerative vineyard management develops over time, other flowering species join the mix, increasing biodiversity and creating a richer ecosystem both above and below ground. We're proud to see regenerative approaches gaining momentum across the industry, including the work being championed by The Regenerative Viticulture Foundation
It's a reminder that some of the most effective vineyard management tools are the ones nature provides.
