The sandwiches & home bakes were delicious. Thank you to pupils Abi, Imogen, Charlotte, Hana, Nathan, Molly, Morgan & Austen.
Also, many thanks to the HE department at TRA & FJA For.You for working with pupils to make this happen.

We had a fantastic start to our new 'Budding Futures' program at Hilton of Cadbol Primary school this week. The students enjoyed harvesting crops, clearing away old plants and nurturing the remaining fruit and veg plants in the school polytunnel. Here are some pictures of their great work! Well Done Guys!

Here’s a thought or two for a Monday morning
and possibly help with climate change too:

We preach Farmers should use less antibiotics, but if your own kitten or dog is sick, you go to the vet right away and give them antibiotics and medications that are prescribed.

Farmers should not import animal feed, but we regularly eat couscous, soy, avocado, bananas, which are for sale in our country due to imports... πŸ…πŸ₯₯

Farmers spoil the drinking water with pesticides. We shower daily with shampoo, rinse medicine down the sink and swim in the chlorine pools... πŸ’§

The farmers should use less pesticides, but we buy strawberries and asparagus in the winter because we can't wait for the season to come... πŸ“πŸ₯¦

The farmers have to adhere to stringent welfare standards forcing prices up, but we buy the cheaper piece of foreign meat from the supermarket because the domestic one is too expensive naively thinking the rest of the World has the same high welfare standards. πŸ₯©πŸ₯©

Farmers would need less pesticides if we bought a crazy shaped carrot or apple with brown spots, but we always buy the nicer looking items.

Nobody appears interested in which and how many antibiotics or pesticides have been used abroad and that we have no influence on that! Then that treated food comes to us by plane or ship.... but we are 'environmentally aware??’ Really????

It is not just the farmers who have to change things, but the consumer!

Let's finally start with ourselves before we always lecture others!

One thing you should never forget, the FARMERS take care of your food, worldwide! πŸ§€πŸ₯šπŸ· πŸ§€πŸ₯šπŸ·

A healthier world is everyone's responsibility.
A little awareness won't hurt.

SUPPORT OUR FARMERS, BUY BRITISH!

A day in the life of a Food Technologist

We get asked frequently what our Food Technologist courses are all about and often people confuse it for hospitality or professional cookery. Here is a great video that explains 'the day in the life of a Food Technologist'. If you are aged 15 to 17 and still in school and have an interest in both food and science then FJA could have the perfect course for you with our Food Technologies Foundation Apprenticeship for 2021/2022 academic year.
