What a lovely bank holiday weekend we’ve had here at Shepherds Loft 🌿🚐

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to stay with us over the weekend. It was so lovely meeting so many friendly people, hearing your touring stories, seeing dogs enjoying the countryside, and watching everyone relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere here on the farm.

We’ve also been incredibly touched to receive several 10/10 reviews on Pitchup following the weekend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reading your kind comments honestly means so much to us as a small family-run site. Knowing that guests appreciate the peace and quiet, spacious pitches, beautiful surroundings, and warm welcome really does make all the hard work worthwhile.

🌿🎣 Lake Update from The Shepherds Loft 🎣🌿

We’ve been out checking the dissolved oxygen levels around the lake today, and we’re really pleased with the results. Readings were between 7.4 and 9.9 in various areas of the lake — ideal conditions for healthy fish growth, active feeding and successful spawning. 🐟

The water temperature is currently sitting just over 21°C, which the carp are clearly enjoying as they are still busy spawning in the reeds around the edges of the pool.

Meanwhile, our resident Canada geese are happily cruising around the lake with their seven goslings in tow, making the most of the beautiful weather. 🪿

With temperatures reaching a balmy 25°C outside today, the whole site is feeling wonderfully summery. ☀️

Nature is certainly thriving here at the moment! 🌾

🎣 Fishing Lake Update 🎣

Our fishing lake is now officially closed for spawning until 13th June.

Over the last few days, our carp have started their annual spawning season — an incredibly important and exhausting time for the fish. Closing the lake allows them the peace and protection they need to recover properly and continue thriving for years to come.

As disappointing as it can be to pause the fishing for a few weeks, the wellbeing of the fish will always come first here at The Shepherds Loft. 💚

We’d like to thank everyone for their understanding and support, and we look forward to welcoming anglers back from 13th June onwards. We can’t wait to see what’s caught later in the summer! 🐟

🚤 Tomorrow, the Severn Shuttle is BACK! 🚤

Good afternoon! We have decided to extend our operation, so starting our service from 08:00 giving you more time to enjoy the show. We have had a few people asking about card payments as well, unfortunately due to the signal on that section of the river we are only able to offer a cash service. We look forward to seeing you there!

🎣 There’s something truly special about fishing here at Shepherds Loft…

Our peaceful pool was originally stocked with carp back in 2005, and over the years we’ve loved watching the fish population grow and thrive. Around the edges of the pool, beautiful marginal plants and vibrant iris provide natural cover for the fish and create the perfect wildlife habitat too 🌿🌼

Fishing here is exclusively for our touring caravan guests, and we limit it to just two parties at a time — giving everyone plenty of space, peace and the chance to really enjoy the quiet surroundings.

One bait that never seems to disappoint? Sweetcorn! 🌽🎣

Why not come and enjoy the peace, cast a line, and see if you can outwit the fish? Whether you’re an experienced angler or just enjoy relaxing by the water, it’s the perfect way to unwind during your stay.

🐶 Are dogs welcome?
Yes — we love welcoming well-behaved dogs to Shepherds Loft! We allow one dog per pitch to help keep the site peaceful, relaxed and enjoyable for everyone staying with us, while still making sure your four-legged companion can enjoy a countryside getaway too.

🚿 What facilities do you have?
Each pitch has both electric hookup and water hookup, making your stay easy and comfortable from the moment you arrive. We also have a spacious bathroom and shower facility, giving guests plenty of room, privacy and comfort during their stay.

🚶 Are there walks nearby?
Yes! We’re surrounded by beautiful countryside with lovely local walks right from the site.

🏕 How many pitches do you have?
Just 8 pitches — helping keep Shepherds Loft calm, spacious and peaceful for everyone staying with us.

🍺 Are there pubs nearby?
Yes — there are some lovely countryside pubs just a short drive away.
