One of the most important truths in infant development is this.

Self-regulation begins with co-regulation. Babies do not come into the world able to regulate themselves. In the beginning / they borrow regulation from the people caring for them. They borrow it through being held.

Through being soothed.
Through being responded to.

When a caregiver brings softness / steadiness / slowness / and responsiveness

The baby is not just having a nice moment.
They are being supported in building the foundations of regulation itself.

Regulation is not something we demand from babies.
It is something we help them grow into through relationship.

🌸Our next walks and talks is taking place on Wednesday 20th May and we will be meeting at the park and ride car park, near Sainsbury’s.

🌸We will be taking a gentle stroll, then heading back to the Caddy Shack at the rugby club to enjoy some sunshine, refreshments and snacks.

🌸As always, the walks and talks are free of charge, but you do need to book beforehand. You are welcome to just walk if you prefer, or you can come for a sit down and chat too. We welcome parents and carers who are at various stages of parenting.

🍃Imagine arriving at the woods just after sunrise. Sipping some delicious cacao, then settling down for some rest and relaxation under the canopy of the trees.

🍃Experience a gorgeous Nurture Harmonics soundbath, learn some grounding techniques, breathwork, and take part in a mediation and Beltane Blessing. There’s a chance to explore that woods, read, have a card reading and have some breakfast under the canopy of the trees.

Beltane, celebrated on May 1st, is a magical turning point in the year. Rooted in ancient Celtic tradition, it marks the peak of spring and the beginning of summer, a time of fertility, fire, passion, and new life. It is when the earth feels abundant, alive, and full of possibility 🌿🔥

I have two lovely ways for you to honour this special time with me:

🌳 1st May - Beltane Morning Magic at Thorncombe Woods (7am)

Join me in the forest for a nurturing, grounding session surrounded by nature. We will gently meditate, get grounded, and enjoy a sound bath and some forest bathing whilst we celebrate the energy of Beltane together. Some small breakfast snacks are included, along with cacao and herbal tea (adults only)

🎶 Saturday 2nd May - Nurture Harmonics Workshop - Celebrating Beltane at Dorchester Yoga Centre (10:30am)

A deeply relaxing and uplifting workshop using sound, connection, and calming practices to help you reset and realign, and connect with your baby. 2 hours of somatic practices to settle and soothe your nervous system (parent and baby)
