🌻 S&W FIRST PYO HAS NOW OFFICIALLY ENDED🌻

We’ve loved seeing so many new faces heading down to the farm to come and pick, the trail of people leaving armed with a big bunch of sunnies, and of course all the gorgeous pics and vids you’ve tagged us in across socials. 💛

It’s been so lovely seeing a pop of yellow brighten up the farmyard, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along and supported our very first PYO - thank you ! 🌻

HARVEST 26 IS A WRAP 🌾

Completed on the 2nd August - our earliest harvest finish ever ! 🚜

We started with grass for seed production, before moving into oilseed r**e, where the seed is sent to the oilseed crusher. The r**eseed oil is extracted, refined, and used as cooking oil - a popular choice

Next came our milling Rye, destined for (the flour we use here at S&W !).

We then harvested our winter wheat, which has a variety of end uses. Some heads to the flour mill to become the bread on your table (and maybe even a loaf from S&W !) 🍞 While other varieties are grown as certified seed for other farmers to plant later in the year.

The final crop for the combine was our spring barley. Our aim is for it to make malting quality and end up helping produce your favourite pint of beer or even a whisky 🍺. Not every load makes the grade, so these are rolled and fed back to our cattle 🐮

So to complete the growing season, we have our maize crop to cut next week to make silage for 🚜

Our sunflower field is open and looking absolutely beautiful ! 💛 Come and enjoy a walk through the flowers and pick your faves

🌻 Please pay in the farm shop before heading to the field.
🌻 A walkway has been cut through the sunflowers so you can explore and enjoy the views

PICK-YOUR-OWN 🌻

We’re so excited that lots of our sunflowers have started popping up to say hey ! 🌞🌻

Just a little more patience before we open S&W’s very first Pick Your Own! ✨

How it works:
🌻 Pop into S&W to buy your tokens.
🌻 Head up to the sunflower field.
🌻 Follow the walkway through the field.
🌻 Hand your tokens in at the end.

We’ll be announcing our opening date very soon… keep your eyes peeled! 💛

And so it begins … HARVEST 2026 🚜 🌾 let’s go
Starting with the grass seed ! This year we are growing 3 varieties, these are all grown for agricultural use - Dairy farmers regularly reseed their grass fields every few years to maintain healthy, productive pasture for their herds🌱
Hopefully the oil seed r**e will be ready to harvest next ! Look out for more updates 👀

Also a little reminder there will be an increase in tractors and machinery moving in and out of the farmyard over the next couple of months. Please take extra care, park considerately, and avoid blocking the entrance, gates, or parking within the farmyard itself. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe! 🧑‍🌾🚜

Shoutout to these legends (and the rest of the team who somehow managed to dodge the 📸).

With our two trusty fans, mountains of ice, and more iced coffees and smoothies than we can count, we’ve made it! 🧊🪭☕🥤

Thanks for bearing with us this week while the crazy heat meant a few fewer sourdough loaves and buns than usual. We really appreciate your support! 🍞🤍
