Our Just Beefer starts with house-sliced Irish brisket, paired with slow-fried caramelised onions that are cooked until naturally sweet and packed with flavour.

Everything is gently simmered together, so every slice of beef soaks up that rich, savoury sauce.

No shortcuts.
No pre-made sauces.
Just time, patience, and good ingredients.

Served with J*panese rice, fresh cabbage salad, and miso soup.

This one is made to make you smile. 🍤

Our Prawn Hug starts with two jumbo prawns, wrapped in seasoned chicken, coated in crispy panko, and fried fresh to order.

Crispy on the outside.
Juicy on the inside.

Served with your choice of J*panese rice or udon, fresh cabbage salad, and miso soup.

Nothing fancy.
Just food we genuinely enjoy making.

🍢 NEW: Pork Bites Skewers

Not every day calls for a full meal.

Sometimes you just want:

🍺 A cold beer
🍸 A cocktail
🍢 Something delicious to snack on

That’s exactly why we made these.

Crispy pork bites on skewers.

Served with crunchy potato bites.

Finished with our house tonkatsu sauce and mayo.

Simple.

Dangerously moreish.

Because what starts as “just one skewer” somehow turns into an empty tray 😆

Hi everyone, we’re JAPJAPJAP 👋

To be honest, we’re not great at social media.

We spend far more time obsessing over pork cutlets than algorithms.😆

One question we get all the time is:

“What does JAPJAPJAP mean?”

The answer is actually pretty simple.

We have a Shiba Inu called Kuent 🐕

Whenever he eats something he really loves, he makes a funny little sound:

“J*p J*p J*p J*p…”

One day, it hit us.

The best food does that to people too.

It makes you forget your manners.

Forget your image.

Forget everything except the next bite.

So when it came time to name our restaurant, there was only one choice:

JAPJAPJAP.

A small restaurant in Durham serving the kind of food we genuinely love to eat ourselves.

THICKKATSU.
Prawn Hug.
Just Beefer.

Food that’s too good to eat quietly.

As for the Shiba Inu in our logo…

Some people say his name is J*ppa.

Others say J*ppa is someone else entirely.

But that’s a story for another day… 🐕👑
