ANNOUNCEMENT

FORTH MARINE HATCHERY


Were really excited to help such an amazing organisation. From my time as a chef I've always been shocked at fishers landing Berried Hens. They are the future of the lobster mans world yet they would rather sell them today than allow the thousands of lobster eggs to hatch and grow.

Thankfully the Scottish Government have finally made it illegal to catch and land the Berried Hens.

However the work being done in North Berwick is incredible and no less important since the change in legislation. Luke and his team are boosting the population of lobsters. Launching thousands of little Lobbies back into the Firth of Forth. This will ensure the Native Blue Lobster can continue to thrive in the region. The team have also started a new scheme to introduce Native Oysters back into the Forth. A species that was once so abundant and as it was a staple for poor folks the abundance was whittled away to extinction. This exciting project is now underway and can be followed on their socials. Now you can assist in this project and support the work being done down the coast by popping into Eddie's and donating to the cause.

We are also donating £5 from each Seafood platter sold in June to the cause so if you needed any further reasons to order the best seafood platter in the world then now you have it!

SEAFOOD PLATTERS ARE BACK!

So it's that time of the year, folks. Seafood platters are BACK! Loaded with dressed shellfish and seafood from East & West Coast, handcrafted by Michelin-trained chefs.

We are told that ours are the best in the world. Our boss man Cam was an award-winning chef for almost 4 decades so he should know his stuff.

Ocean Perch! Norweigian Red Fish, Rosefish and Norway Haddock just some of the monikers this deep water species goes by.

Delicate sweet meat and as the BBQ season Kicks in I expect to see these be renamed Flying Fish as the fly out the shop!

LK71 THE RADIANT STAR.

What a gem this boat is. This vessel is From Lerwick in Shetland and heads out into, what can be some of the wildest seas on our beautiful planet.

Landing into Shetland Market twice a week it supplies much of the fish we sell in Eddie's Seafood Market. All hand processed by our master filleter Willie. Willie as many of you know started in Eddie's as a 16 year old apprentice. He has been with us since then. That's 37 years on the slab, scaling, gutting, filleting and pin boning hundreds of tonnes of the fish the crews like the lads on Radiant Star risk their lives to land for us all. We're grateful to everyone who makes Eddie's what it is today.
