Wondering how you're going to stock your fridges this Oktoberfest?

Worry no more because our brand new Festbier, Münch, is officially available for pre-order!

We teamed up with the QUEEN of la**rs, Eva, from to create this gorgeously crisp pint. You can look out for notes of white bread (likely) and pretzels (unlikely) paired with a subtle floral hop profile.

You might have noticed that we have a few b**r names inspired by the titles or lyrics of some of our favourite songs. We figured it was time to bring them all together into the official Closet Brewing B**r Playlist.

We're arranging them by genre but feel free to organise them by artist, title or if you're feeling really fancy, by b**r style!

We aren’t the new kids on the block anymore; we have definitely done this at least one whole time before now. In fact, It’s Actually My Second Rodeo.

Packed to the rafters with a heady combination of Idaho-7, Amarillo and Strata, this b**r is our most heavily hopped ever!

Saddle up and prepare yourself for fresh peaches, juicy oranges and a smooth dankness perched atop our soft IPA base.

The artwork for this b**r was created by a new artist to us: ! Aíne Lynn-McEvoy is a q***r, neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist from Belfast who draws on Americana, folk traditions and satire into bold contemporary visual storytelling.

It's new b**r time!

Brewed in collaboration with our pals at Fell Brewery, Brass Rings is a tribute to punk band Against Me!'s anthem to the rejection of false power, Black Me Out. Against a backdrop of toasty, biscuit malts, Idaho-7 and Audacia hops layer on notes of pine resin and citrus.

We'll be officially launching this b**r on tap at Fell Bar Northern Quarter this Friday as part of our third annual Fell x Closet Manchester Pride Party! If you can't come along to the launch in person, do not fear, as you can order Brass Rings (and plenty of other great Closet b**rs) from our webstore.

A huge thank you to our wonderful friend, HAM (), who created this amazing artwork with an incredibly tight deadline.

HAM is an Irish comic artist and print maker based in Edinburgh. He likes to explore serious topics in the dumbest way possible.

Its time for ANOTHER NEW B**R 🐦‍⬛

Pigeon, or more accurately "pidgin", English is a phrase used to describe the way languages and dialects blend together to enable communication between people without a common tongue- stripping back the constraints of grammar and getting back to basics.

For the dapper little gentleman on Pigeon English, we blended Azacca and Idaho-7 to create a classic New England IPA stripped back so you're just left with the good stuff; soft notes of tangerine, mango, and a hint of peach iced tea.

We were delighted to work with a new artist on this b**r - the incomparable Freya Allan. Freya is an amazing Scottish artist turning her playful and vibrant observations of the world around her into beautiful illustrations.

Today officially marks 4 years of Closet Brewing, and what better way to celebrate than to officially launch our birthday b**r?!

Introducing This Is What Community Looks Like - our creamy tropical birthday IPA.

You may notice the artwork looks a little different to our usual fare here, and with good reason. As the name suggests, we wanted to use our 4th birthday as an excuse to celebrate the amazing community around us, including our incredible artists, so we approached 9 of the artists we've worked with over the past 18 months to ask if they would help us create a label that represents our community.

This was the final result: a collage of self-portraits, self-explorations and abstract art, all reflecting the unique personalities and artistic styles of the Closet Brewing artists.

With just 10 days to go until our big birthday event, here's all the information you need to know (plus some you probably don't!)

THE MARKET
• The market runs from 12pm to 6pm and is free to enter
• Dogs and children are welcome
• LUSH bath bomb workshop from 2pm to 4pm (£5 per person)
• Charity raffle winners to be announced at 6pm (raising money for Porty Pride and LGBT Health and Wellbeing)
• All food vendors are vegan

THE BAR
• 6 Closet brewing b**rs on tap all day including a very special birthday b**r
• Soft drink options including karma sodas and homemade slushies
• Wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic b**rs also available
• Over 18s only from 6pm
• Live DJ set from 7:30pm to 9pm
• Card payment only

ACCESSIBILITY
• The venue is wheelchair and pushchair accessible
• Disabled toilets and baby-changing facilities are available
• Sensory friendly hour from 12pm to 1pm
• There is one disabled parking space outside the venue

GETTING HERE
• Both the market and afterparty are at Portobello Town Hall
• Lothian buses 12, 19, 21, 26 and 49 stop outside the venue

We are pretty excited about this one! We wanted some fun food options for folks coming along to This Is What Community Looks Like, and we reckon we've hit the jackpot with these two.

First up is Unity Doner! They set up shop here in Edinburgh in April of this year with some absolutely unreal vegan doner kebabs - the perfect way to refuel while wandering around our market.

Secondly, we're bringing you legendary vegan ice creams of Soft Serve Cartel to the market, guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth and keep you cool too.

This Is What Community Looks Like is really starting to take shape and we can't wait to share the day with you - if you've not added it to your diaries already, don't forget 18 July 2026 from 12pm onwards!

What's this? Our final Meet the Maker?

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, is Cat Gordon (she/her). Cat is an illustrator and printmaker in Edinburgh who makes beautiful semi-autobiographical zines about q***r life.

When she's not at the riso printer, Cat has designed three incredible labels for Closet Brewing - all inspired by song lyrics; Cowboy's Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other, Live Outside and Ode to Aphrodite (okay, that one is a poem, not a song but we hope you'll let it slide for the sake of narrative consistency. Marketing is hard).

You'll be able to meet Cat, AJ, Fraser, Zuza, Orion, Jean, Helen, Fiona, Derek, Jasper and Ryan, as well as a few other special guests at the This Is What Community Looks Like market on 18 July from 12pm onwards!

For our penultimate Meet the Maker post, we have the artist behind our annual Pride charity b**r, AJ Duncan (she/her)!

AJ's work reflects the everyday lives of women and q***r folk, with a drive to represent people and communities who are often left out or overlooked by the visual arts.

It made perfect sense, then, for AJ to design the label for Gal Pals, a b**r named for the q***r romantic relationships that have been overlooked by history.
