John Grant OBE

Our Chairman, John Grant, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List, in recognition of his services to the Scotch whisky industry and to charity.

John has devoted more than 50 years to the industry and has been pivotal to the success of Glenfarclas. He is the fifth generation of the Grant family to run and manage Glenfarclas, one of Scotland’s few remaining independent, family owned distilleries.

As we celebrate 190 years of Glenfarclas this year, it feels especially fitting to recognise John’s lasting contribution to the business and to the wider industry.

🥃Spirit of Speyside Festival Exclusive Release 🥃

For the very first time, we’re releasing a Glenfarclas matured in a refill Matusalem Sherry Butt. Distilled in 2015, this exceptional single cask (No. 5950) yielded an astonishing 803 bottles. It was specially selected for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival by our Distillery Manager Callum Fraser, recipient of the 2026 Master Distiller of the Year award.

Expect rich notes of toffee, dark chocolate and ripe fruits, layered with hazelnut, coffee, and a beautifully warming, sherried finish. This bottling will be available to purchase from 10am on Wednesday the 29th of April. Priced at £95 per bottle and only available from our Visitor Centre.

We’ll also be running a competition at our Visitor Centre — for every Spirit of Speyside exclusive bottle purchased, you’ll be entered into a draw to win the limited‑edition Matusalem cask end.

A Once in a Lifetime Glenfarclas Experience

We are delighted to invite you to be among the select few to experience the oldest whisky ever released by Glenfarclas Distillery — our remarkable 70‑year‑old.

This exclusive Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival event on Thursday 30th April and Friday 1st May will be hosted by our award‑winning Distillery Manager, Callum A. Fraser — recently named Master Distiller 2026 by Icons of Whisky — who will guide you through an unforgettable behind‑the‑scenes 70‑year‑old experience.

This year, we’re thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to learn the secrets behind how we craft our whisky, with Callum sharing the story of this extraordinary release. With over 30 years of whisky‑making experience — including 13 years at Glenfarclas as Production Manager — he has watched over this rare cask, selecting the perfect moment to reveal it to the world.

Callum will then open the famous red doors of Warehouse No. 8 — once part of the original maltings and in use when the 70‑year‑old was first distilled — allowing you to taste this exceptional whisky in the very place where its journey began.

A truly unforgettable moment in Glenfarclas history.🥃

🏌️‍♂️ The Glenfarclas Whisky and Golf Experience Is Back! 🥃

By popular demand, the Glenfarclas Golfing Experience returns on Sunday 3rd May - hosted by Distillery Manager Callum A. Fraser and Head of Sales Duncan Grant. Expect a day filled with whisky, golf, and proper Highland hospitality.

Kick off the morning with a full Scottish breakfast in the Glenfarclas Still House, enjoyed beside our iconic copper stills, before heading behind the scenes for an exclusive look at how Glenfarclas whisky is crafted.

Then it’s off to Boat of Garten Golf Club for 18 memorable holes surrounded by the River Spey, and the stunning Cairngorms.

Back at the distillery, unwind with a private after‑hours tasting with Callum and Duncan, followed by our famous Glenfarclas Whisky BBQ—an evening of great whisky, great food, and great company.

And don’t forget - you’ll head home with a hand‑selected Glenfarclas gift bag.
