We are delighted to announce the launch of our 2011 Vintage, the latest addition to the exclusive Family Cask Collection. Selected during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, this exceptional single cask release has been matured in a first-fill Oloroso Sherry Hogshead and bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.8% ABV.

With just 276 bottles available worldwide, this is an extremely limited release that offers whisky enthusiasts and collectors the opportunity to own a unique piece of Glenfarclas history.

The Family Cask Collection is believed to be the largest consecutive collection of Scotch whisky in the world, with vintages from 1952 through to 2011. This remarkable collection showcases a diverse range of cask types, fills, production methods and ages, with each bottle representing a distinct moment in time. Together, they provide a unique insight into the history, craftsmanship and character of Glenfarclas, creating whiskies that can be enjoyed and admired for generations to come.

In celebration of our 190th Anniversary, we are proud to announce the release of this limited edition bottling. Glenfarclas 190 is the final release in the Anniversary trilogy, marking 190 years of official distillation and reflects the true full bodied and robust character of Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

An extraordinary 78 casks were carefully selected to become part of this release by Managing Director, Douglas Belford and Distillery Manager, Callum Fraser who gave insight into their selection process:

"By drawing on spirit across five decades, we were able to pull out the fruitier notes from the 70s, rich sherried flavours from the 80s and 90s, and the toffee caramel notes from casks laid down in the 2000s".

Bottled at 51.4% ABV - formerly 90 British proof - the system used to indicate alcohol strength for the first 154 years of production here at the distillery.

Today we remain family owned and true to our traditional direct-fired distillation methods continuing to produce a spirit that is a testament to the time-honoured craftsmanship and expertise passed down through the generations. The Glenfarclas 190 celebrates our rich heritage and tells the story of our long and distinguished history dating back to 1836.

John Grant OBE

Our Chairman, John Grant, has been awarded an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours List, in recognition of his services to the Scotch whisky industry and to charity.

John has devoted more than 50 years to the industry and has been pivotal to the success of Glenfarclas. He is the fifth generation of the Grant family to run and manage Glenfarclas, one of Scotland’s few remaining independent, family owned distilleries.

As we celebrate 190 years of Glenfarclas this year, it feels especially fitting to recognise John’s lasting contribution to the business and to the wider industry.

🥃Spirit of Speyside Festival Exclusive Release 🥃

For the very first time, we’re releasing a Glenfarclas matured in a refill Matusalem Sherry Butt. Distilled in 2015, this exceptional single cask (No. 5950) yielded an astonishing 803 bottles. It was specially selected for the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival by our Distillery Manager Callum Fraser, recipient of the 2026 Master Distiller of the Year award.

Expect rich notes of toffee, dark chocolate and ripe fruits, layered with hazelnut, coffee, and a beautifully warming, sherried finish. This bottling will be available to purchase from 10am on Wednesday the 29th of April. Priced at £95 per bottle and only available from our Visitor Centre.

A Once in a Lifetime Glenfarclas Experience

We are delighted to invite you to be among the select few to experience the oldest whisky ever released by Glenfarclas Distillery — our remarkable 70‑year‑old.

This exclusive Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival event on Thursday 30th April and Friday 1st May will be hosted by our award‑winning Distillery Manager, Callum A. Fraser — recently named Master Distiller 2026 by Icons of Whisky — who will guide you through an unforgettable behind‑the‑scenes 70‑year‑old experience.

This year, we’re thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to learn the secrets behind how we craft our whisky, with Callum sharing the story of this extraordinary release. With over 30 years of whisky‑making experience — including 13 years at Glenfarclas as Production Manager — he has watched over this rare cask, selecting the perfect moment to reveal it to the world.

Callum will then open the famous red doors of Warehouse No. 8 — once part of the original maltings and in use when the 70‑year‑old was first distilled — allowing you to taste this exceptional whisky in the very place where its journey began.
