Straight From The Hive We have been keeping bee's since 2020 after we had watched a swarm of Bees from our chimney land in the garden.

we love learning about them and sharing our knowledge with our friends. we have collected many swarms and sell our honey locally.

Another day and another swarm, this one was tricky as it was spread out over multiple branches so not an easy shake out. Took a while for them to settle and then head into the hive.

My lovely friend Jane Farnhill gave us a call last night about a swarm that flew past her house and grouped in a tree close by.
We happily packed the car with the swarm kit and headed out.
Thankfully Jane's husband had a ladder we needed because they were quite high in the tree. Adam's able to be quite nimble and work at heights due to his rigging day job.
Nice quick shake into a skep and they all went.

Another one of our queens, she was a very late swarm in October last year which is very unusual and definitely not one that I thought would make it through the winter with hardly any stores, but she did and is expanding well.
