Cheese markers and knives that are a little less ordinary …..

We have taken delivery of these beautiful cheese markers and knives from the lovely ladies of Cutlery With Attitude . I was gifted a couple of knives last year and I love the sentiments !! 😉.

We have section in the shop now and I’ve already bought some myself to gift ! They are , like us, a little less ordinary …..

BIG BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND INCOMING …

With the last bank holiday until Christmas coming up, we’ve popped a BIG grab bag on the website to pre order for collection this Friday .

For £30 you get the normal Friday 3 cheese blind date selection along with a pate / rillette, Olives, popcorn, chutney and biscuits . It’s made for sharing ( or not , we don’t judge) and is live for pre orders now . Just choose click and collect at the checkout .

The Friday blind date cheese bags are also available to preorder but there will also be a limited number available in the counter on Friday for walk in purchase.

WE’VE HAD A LITTLE MOVE AROUND ….

With the festive season approaching from a northerly direction, we’ve put some subtle reminders around for those of you who like to get organised and ready early.

From now until the end of September , if you buy any ambient products for your gifting boxes or stocking fillers and whisper ‘Christmas is coming’ at the till, we will give you a 5% discount.

It’s never too early to start, and you can have a warm smug feeling when everyone else is panicking on Christmas Eve !

NORFOLK GIN … ‘THE FINALE’ ..

I’m not sure how I’m going to write this post without crying , but here goes ….

I’ve known for a while but last week our lovely friends Alison & Johnathan announced their much deserved retirement of Norfolk Gin ….. 💔

They have been crafting the best gin in the world , since 2014 and Paul and I were very early adopters , before knowing them as a couple , and have some very early batch numbered bottles ( now candlesticks) in our collection including a personalised ‘Paul’s Favourite Gin’ bottle .

What started small grew to 2 purpose built sheds in their garden and he iconic stone bottles we all know and love .

We were lucky enough to be invited to their summer party just after I started my box delivery service in 2024 for their 10th Anniversary and we have a limited edition ‘blue’ bottle from a run they did a few years ago, so yes, we really are massive fans and we will miss their gin when we’ve had our last sips.

We have a few bottles left in the shop , and a few refills with hopefully a few more refills coming soon , but then that will be the end …..

Oh Alison & Johnathan, you gorgeous people , we wish you the happiest retirement , and Bon voyage on your travels. Your gin will be missed by us but we will stay in touch and check in with your adventures !

BESPOKE CHEESEBOARDS..

This box contains 8 identical bespoke cheeseboards for a beautiful wedding this week . Cut, wrapped, packed and delivered , ready to be put onto boards tomorrow.

Today we have sent out event cheese across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk .

We can cut simple boards, or include biscuits, chutneys, pickled fruits, dried fruits and nuts.

ONE DAY ONY……LIVE IN ELY HIGH ST ….

She’s got the keys and today, she’s our queen of cheese 👸🏻🧀.

Becky Enefer from Wilton Farm Norfolk who you all know as our beloved Becky, maker of Norfolk White Lady and Wissington, is running the show today , alongside the wonderful Sophie while I take a few hours off.

These superstars will be operating a counter service only offering today, but with plenty of chat and smiles.

Thank you ladies for plotting and making me take a step away. I am lucky to have you in my life and the customers are going to love your smiles today !

CALLING KEFFIR LOVERS …

Those clever chaps at Fen Farm Dairy , not content with launching a new cheese in the last few weeks , have launched this amazing Keffir !

In their own words …”
Our NEW traditionally fermented kefir is handmade on our Suffolk farm, using the fresh milk of our happy Montbéliarde herd and live cultures from Normandy. Packed full of goodness your gut will high-five you for!

The seed was sown a few years ago while Jonny, our co-owner, was on a cheese trip to France.

He tried the most incredible kefir in Normandy - unlike anything he’d ever had before, with an almost Champagne-like fizz.

It was fresh, clean and beautifully balanced, and a world away from the commercial kefirs you find on most supermarket shelves.

With an increasing demand from customers old and new, and fresh milk from our happy Montbéliarde herd at our fingertips, we were inspired to create our own-take on the delicious kefir Jonny discovered in Normandy!………….”

Limited stock this week, but if you’re a kefir lover then come and pick up a bottle .

NEIL IS HAVING A HOLIDAY 😮

So, tomorrow , Friday 14th , is your last chance to get a Sourdough Fix from Bread by Neil until , SEPTEMBER !!

He’s a good bloke and he needs a rest, all those early mornings take their toll , so tomorrow’s bakery table will be the last for a few weeks .

In anticipation of your sadness, we have done another collab ‘Cheesy Little Bastard’ but numbers will be limited so get in early ! We will also have the usual cheesy sticks , olive batons and Cheese & Pickle sliders .

Have a great holibobs Neil but please don’t make a habit of it 🤣.

HEADS UP ..

This coming Saturday the shop will be counter service only ( no tables I’m afraid ) as I leave the shop to play Mrs Paul Dunthorne for the day and accompany hubby to an event. Please don’t worry because you get the Brucie Bonus of Becky Wilton Farm Norfolk holding the fort and slinging the cheese along with her gorgeous assistant Sophie ! Anyone who remembers the last Saturday I had off at Christmas will remember them well . A great team and double act so you won’t miss me and It will be a blast !

Normal service will resume on Sunday .

Then, next weekend , I am closing the shop early on Saturday to attend a beautiful wedding celebration in Sussex . I apologise for any inconvenience but you’ve got the heads up so you can get in and get your weekend cheeses early .
