Falafel most likely originated in Egypt, possibly created by Coptic Christians and originally made with fava beans instead of chickpeas. While the exact origin is debated, the most widely accepted theory points to Egypt, with the dish eventually spreading to the Levant region, where chickpeas were favored.
The Secret Falafel favours neither fava beans nor chick peas...
