BEACH LOFTS AT WATERGATE BAY

[Ad-PR Invite] A week since we checked out of our glorious beach loft at Watergate Bay Hotel and I still smile thinking about it. Life has been non-stop lately, but those two days we just stopped and soaked it all up. I’m not always great at pressing pause but these rooms really are the perfect place to do it. They’ve thought of literally everything with them so they feel super special but like home from home. We’ve already agreed that one day we’re gonna treat ourselves and go back for a whole week because we basically didn’t want to leave.

First let’s talk about the views. So captivating even the doggos stopped and stared.

One moment you’re looking at sunshine and sparkling seas. The next it might be angry waves and rain. Both are stunning and you get to watch it all unfold in front of you.

The perfect cosy couch to curl up and soak up those views. And yes, that’s a bath tub and fire on the left. Cosy vibes galore.

Plenty of space. No squeezing round a bed or tripping over each other. And look at that decor.

Beach walks literally a few paces from your room, with your own private access straight onto the sand.

Light, bright and airy. Beautifully done :-)

A big old bathroom with jack and jill sinks and a separate toilet too.

All the calm. I even managed to switch off and do a bit of reading which is very unlike me.

Super super dog friendly. Mats, bowls and toys for the babies. Plus a baby monitor if you want one so you can go and enjoy the pool or a quiet drink and leave them in the room. I love taking the doggos with us when we go away but what was lovely was having the best of both worlds.

The glorious bath tub complete with extra towels, salts and toiletries. No traipsing back and forth here. Someone actually thought it through.

Food lately … the little moments of edible joy in between everything else. Starting with some sandwich research at the Cornish Arms in Frogpool.

POSTCARDS FROM THE RISING SUN

[Ad-Invite] One of my fave places for a drink in the sun in St Mawes, but now also for a night away too. Lovely rooms, well thought out with all the little touches. Decent food. Dog friendly. A fab spot. One of my faves full of memories.

Beach bags if you need. Not to mention dry robes for a sea dip. A stamped postcard to send home.
Coffee, tea and all that jazz.

A lovely terrace for summer afternoons and evenings.

Why do I never seem to have time to enjoy these bath tubs?

Cosy corners in the restaurant for dinner, lunch or brekkie.

Nice decor and comfy beds.

Decent breakfast with a buffet plus hot options.

Glorious views - especially on a sunny day.

Approximately 10 steps from the front door to the beach.

Because when you’ve got half a book to write and a spinning brain, the answer is to trot off to Hideaway5Xings for sustenance. Chilli loaded hotdog and a donut for back at the desk. They’re closing soon for winter so you’d best get down quick and buy all the donuts you can get your hands on. Brain food see 🤷‍♀️🫶🤗

When Brandy turned 10 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Because if you can’t do a dog cake when your baby bear hits a milestone of a decade, when can you?

I never believed people when they said how special dogs can be. And then along came Brandy. She changed our lives. She taught me a tonne of stuff - about dogs, about myself, about people, about everything. She’s stolen a bit of my heart that she’ll live rent-free in forever. How lucky we are to have you little girl, and to have had you for as long as we have. So here’s to your birthday full of cuddles, walks in your favourite spots, treats galore and the only cake you’ll ever have 😂

Forever grateful to that little purple-collared puppy for picking us. You’ve brought us so much joy, mixed in with a mild smattering of annoyance and worry at times. You’ve been on all our adventures - we’ve road tripped, hiked, done girls’ trips together, eaten in posh restaurants, played around in boats, started a new life in Cornwall and everything in between. Please hang around a good bit longer for even more.
