Remember when we said it was worth preparing before the taps came under pressure?

With over half of England now in drought status and much of the rest experiencing prolonged dry weather, it's a timely reminder that being prepared isn't about expecting the worst, its about being ready.

Those who prepared ahead may already have stored rainwater available to help water gardens, clean outdoor areas or use as greywater, reducing the demand on valuable mains water.

If you haven't prepared yet, it's not too late. You can get ready for the next rainfall by installing a water butt and taking a few simple steps now to help ease the impact of the current drought and be better prepared for future dry spells.

💧 Install a water butt to make the most of rainfall. Collected rainwater is ideal for watering your garden and plants, helping you save valuable mains water during dry spells.
💧 Store water safely and responsibly, making sure there are no leaks in your storage containers.
💧 Think about how you'd access safe drinking water if supplies were ever disrupted.
💧 Consider reliable water purification as part of your emergency preparedness. The right purification system can enable collected rainwater, or water from natural sources such as ponds and streams, to be treated for safe drinking in an emergency, where appropriate.

We'd much rather our advice proved unnecessary than became today's reality.

If you'd like to discuss your water purification needs, our team is always happy to help. Get in touch with us or visit our website to find out more.

After a brief taste of summer, the rain is back.

Is the wet weather getting you down?

How would you feel without water on the hotter days?

If you haven't already started preparing for a warm, dry summer, now is the perfect time to think about your water security.

Over the next few rainy days, you could put some simple measures in place to start collecting rainwater.

Even something as simple as connecting a water butt to a downpipe can help you capture and store water for later use.

Collected rainwater can be used in many ways around the home, whether it's watering plants during a hosepipe ban, washing outdoor areas, or purifying the water to produce safe drinking water during an unexpected outage.

Don't wait until you need it; prepare for when it's needed.

Today's rain could be tomorrow's water supply.

With the current heatwave, demand for drinking water is increasing significantly.

While the typical recommendation is around 2 litres of water per person per day, hotter conditions and increased activity levels can raise this requirement to 3–5 litres.

As demand rises, traditional water supplies can come under increasing pressure, with restrictions such as hosepipe bans already being introduced in some areas.

Mobile water purification systems offer a practical way to make use of available natural water sources and increase resilience during periods of high demand.

For the figures below, we have used an average consumption rate of 4 litres per person per day.

In just one hour of operation, our Séon UV unit can produce enough drinking water to meet the daily needs of approximately 150 people, using a freshwater source.

Our Séon RO Seawolf can produce enough
drinking water in one hour to meet the daily needs of approximately 15 people, using seawater as its source.

These are proven, real-world solutions designed to deliver safe drinking water where and when it is needed most.
