🐴🐐 ANIMAL WELFARE, LICENSING & INSURANCE – WHY IT MATTERS! 🐑🐰
Would you know what to check before booking animals for your event?
Whether it’s a mobile petting farm, school visit, care home, birthday party, wedding or public display, animal welfare and public safety should ALWAYS come first. ❤️
At Life Between the Ears, we believe that working with animals is a privilege that comes with enormous responsibility.
⚠️ DID YOU KNOW?
In England, businesses exhibiting animals to the public for entertainment or education may legally require an Animal Exhibition Licence.
Where this licence is required, appropriate public liability insurance is also a mandatory condition.
WHY IS THIS SO IMPORTANT?
🐾 Animal welfare – Animals deserve proper care, suitable environments and protection from unnecessary stress.
🛡️ Public protection – Animals can be unpredictable, and appropriate insurance helps protect against covered accidents and injuries.
👧 Safeguarding visitors – Children, elderly people and vulnerable individuals deserve safe, properly supervised animal experiences.
📋 Professional responsibility – Risk assessments, hygiene procedures, appropriate handling and animal welfare standards should never be overlooked.
❤️ Peace of mind – Families, schools, care homes and event organisers should feel confident about who they are inviting onto their premises.
CHEAPEST DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN SAFEST!
Before booking an animal experience, don’t be afraid to ask:
✅ Do you hold the appropriate licence, if required?
✅ Are you fully insured for the activities you offer?
✅ Do you have suitable risk assessments?
✅ How do you protect your animals’ welfare?
Responsible animal experiences should never compromise animal welfare or public safety.
At Life Between the Ears, we believe in doing things properly, putting our animals first and creating safe, meaningful experiences for everyone.
🐴 Because animals aren’t props. They’re living, feeling beings who deserve respect.
