Just one week to go until you can buy our very tasty, slow grown and matured grass fed beef again. Whether you are restocking your freezer or just want to try and see what all the rave reviews are about pop up to the farm Friday 2pm or Saturday 9am to 4pm. Meet the farmer a see where your beef is raised. We will have burgers and beef sausages for all too.

On our return home from separate meetings Adrian and I found a bit of a surprise looming in the mist. We couldn’t leave them in the lane and began to make phone calls to locate their owner. Turned out to be our neighbours cheeky Shetland pony and his rather large companion. Fortunately we were able to lure them into a cattle pen with a shake of a bucket and handful of haylage. Half an our later their owner arrived to lead them home. Can’t says it ever gets boring on a farm.

What roast did you have this Sunday? We had what I call a mock roast, minute steaks braised in gravy and served with homemade gluten free Yorkshire pubs and frozen veg. Quick and easy when there is just two of you for supper and you been helping the grandchildren all afternoon with one of their ponies.

🐄 Pregnancy results are in!

This morning, we brought the heifers in for PDing (pregnancy diagnosis) with our vet, Olly from Synergy Animal Health.

After being artificially inseminated earlier in the year, 5 out of 7 are in calf! 🎉

That’s a fantastic result, especially after the record-breaking hot summer, which has affected cattle fertility rates across the country.

A big thank you to Olly for helping us get the answers—and now we’ll be looking forward to meeting the calves next year! 🤞🐮
