Hello!
Access to the West beach carpark will be increased to £2 as of the 11th of June.
These £2 gives you all-day access to one of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland and free access to the maintained toilet blocks during your trip to the beach, easy access to the colourful beaches huts and a disabled ramp so that people with mobility issues can still appreciate the view.
I personally support this increase, as I see first hand the efforts that the Findhorn Conservation Company put into maintaining, repairing and improving the area.
Only last week, someone once again rammed the height barrier and pushed it so far back that it jammed, which meant that I was unable to exit the carpark at the end of my working day.
Fixing the barrier each time someone in a tall vehicle chances it costs a lot of money and personally hinders me.
And this week, someone stuffed boxer shorts down one of the toilets, resulting in an almighty blockage and incurred a huge cost to repair the pump to get the toilet block back up and running.
I understand that this increased parking charge adds a cost to your coffee order. I do not take that for granted but I do hope you will still come to visit.
If you want to avoid paying, there are spaces before the payment barrier and the East Beach is free so you can walk along to van from there.
Although I do work at the beach and am the only face you can vent to, please remember that I do not have anything to do with this decision.
So please do not shout at me, as many others did when the payment barrier was first installed. ☺️
Notification of Beach Car Park (West) Daily Parking Charge Increase
Following a review of operating and maintenance costs, the daily parking charge at Beach Car Park (West) will increase to £2 per day from 11th June 2026.
This decision has not been taken lightly. The income generated from parking helps contribute towards:
- Maintenance of the access road and car park
- Ongoing pothole repairs
- Vegetation management and clearance
- Provision and operation of the free public toilets
- General upkeep of facilities used by residents and visitors
- Maintenance and improvements to land in and around Findhorn Village for the benefit of residents and visitors
The cost of maintaining these parking facilities, toilets, and associated services continues to rise. In the current financial year, costs incurred to date have already exceeded £40,000. In order to help meet these ongoing costs while keeping parking affordable, we have limited the increase to £2 per day.
We remain committed to providing affordable access to Findhorn Beach. Even with this increase, the Beach Car Park (West) remains competitively priced compared with many other local parking facilities.
The Findhorn Village Conservation Company would like to thank all users for their continued support.
