Glen Moray doesn't often go by the name "The Malt Marauder," but that's exactly the trouble it's causing right now! πŸ’₯

has just awarded it with a Master medal, the highest award the competition gives out!😲

Thanks to the judges for this recognition. Every WhiskyHeroes release is built to be bold and a little bit adventurous, from the whisky in the bottle to the story on the label, and it's brilliant to see that character land one of the industry's top accolades.

Caol Ila sits right on the Sound of Islay, the narrow strait that separates the island from Jura. Dramatic coastline, wild water, and a distillery that's been quietly producing some of Islay's finest whisky since 1846.

Long before the distillery, a small fishing village stood on that same shore. The men fished the Sound of Islay, and not all of them made it back. The women who stayed kept everything going β€” the village, the land, each other. It's a story that stayed with us when we named this bottling.

We bought a cask from this fantastic Islay's distilleries and finished it in a 1st Fill Fino Sherry Hogshead. The result: heather honey, herbaceous, soft sweet peat, and an earthy finish. 380 bottles at 50.4% ABV.

Have you ever visited Caol Ila, or made it to Islay? πŸ₯ƒ

A nice one to share about our WhiskyHeroes lineup this week. πŸ’₯

"Captain Shug & The Second Sight" Teaninich 13 Years Old has picked up Gold in the Scottish Whisky Single Malt Highland category at Meininger's (ISW) 2026.

13 years in an Amontillado Sherry hogshead has given this one plenty of dried fruit and vanilla, a solid malty backbone, and a long, developed oakiness on the finish β€” no smoke or peat needed.

Only the top 30% of entries get a medal at ISW, so Captain Shug's second sight clearly knew what it was doing.πŸ‘€

Thanks to everyone who's picked up a bottle and told us what they think along the way β€” this one's for you as much as it is for us.

Who's trying this one next?

Teaninich was founded in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro, a Napoleonic war hero who had lost his sight in battle. Despite that, he built one of the Highlands' earliest legal distilleries. A blind captain with a vision. πŸ‘οΈ

Mostly destined for blends, Teaninich single malts are rare, and when the chance to get our hands on one of their casks comes along, we jump at it.

13 yo Teaninich, finished in a 1st Fill Amontillado Sherry Hogshead: stewed apples, walnuts, chalky, gently tannic. Only 349 bottles at 51.9% ABV.

Have you ever come across a Teaninich in Amontillado before? πŸ₯ƒ

Tormore is one of Speyside's most striking distilleries, its musical clock plays four different Scottish songs every quarter of an hour, and the distillery was granted listed building status before it was even 30 years old. Less well known: some of its washbacks are tucked inside that very clock tower!. So when we say Phantom of the Clock Tower… now you know. πŸ•°οΈ

We kept this Tormore in a refill bourbon barrel for 15 years, and the result is elegant and brooding: honey, lemon syrup, charcoal biscuits, and an ashy finish.

232 bottles at 57.3% ABV.

Have you ever visited Tormore β€” or spotted it from the A95? It's hard to miss. πŸ₯ƒ

THE WAIT IS OVER. THE HEROES ARE READY! 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scotland are at the World Cup for the first time in 28 years!!!!! This is suuuuuuuuper exciting!!! πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

While our heroes battle it out on the pitch, make sure yours is in your glass.Which one's gonna land in yours on the 14th June?!!

⚽ For the one who never stopped believingπŸ‘‰πŸΎ

Widow's Cove β€” Caol Ila, 11 years old, finished in a 1st fill Fino Sherry Hogshead. Smoky, peaty, herbaceous with heather honey. This one's for the loyal ones. The fans who kept the faith through 28 long years.

⚽ For the one who loves a surpriseπŸ‘‰πŸΎ

The Malt Marauder β€” Glen Moray, 11 years old, finished in a 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Butt. Summer fruits, spearmint, warming spice. Just like Scotland at a World Cup β€” nobody saw it coming, but here we are.

⚽ For the one who watches the whole gameπŸ‘‰πŸΎ

Phantom of the Clock Tower β€” Tormore, 15 years old, matured in a Refill Bourbon Barrel. Honey, lemon, ashy depth. The tactical thinker. The one already planning the next match before this one's done.

Somewhere on Scotland's west coast, smoke drifts over the water toward a tiny granite island. We're not saying where exactly, but the view is spectacular. 🌊

This Lowland blended malt spent 12 years quietly doing its thing before we finished it in a 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Barrique. The result: candyfloss, tangerine, dry woodsmoke, and a whisper of liquorice. 213 bottles at 59.8% ABV (!). Smoke and all.

Lowland whiskies are rarely known for their peaty side, have you ever tried a peated Lowlander? πŸ₯ƒ

Glen Moray doesn't usually shout. It's the kind of Speyside that eases you in. Its approachable, fruity, easy to love. And then.... we decided to put it in a 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Butt, and that's when things got interesting.πŸ’₯πŸ₯ƒ

Summer fruit and spearmint up front, then warming spice creeps in and just when you think you've got it figured out πŸ‘‰πŸΎ that lingering menthol finish hits. Didn't see that coming, did you?πŸ§πŸ™ƒ

655 bottles. 53.3% ABV. Single cask.

Ever been surprised by a distillery you thought you knew well? πŸ‘€

is a Speyside workhorse that rarely gets the spotlight β€” most of its whisky quietly disappears into blends. So when a single cask made its way to us, we knew it deserved something special!

Finished in a 1st Fill Manzanilla Hogshead, 15 years in the making, and the result is something pretty special: olive brine, dried apricot, quince jelly, and white pepper.

205 bottles at 55.5% ABV. A hidden gem, finally out in the open. πŸ₯ƒ

Have you ever tried a Dailuaine in Manzanilla hogshead before? Drop a comment below!

May on the West coast. The perfect time to open something that smells exactly like it.πŸ₯ƒ

11 years at Caol Ila, finished in a 1st fill Fino Sherry Hogshead. Heather honey, soft sweet peat, herbaceous and earthy. Everything you'd expect from Islay β€” and then a little something extra from that sherry finish.πŸ”₯

380 bottles. 57.3% ABV. Single cask!!!

What's your favourite thing about Islay whiskies? The peat, the coast, or something else entirely? πŸ‘€
