After years of management roles within the retail and hospitality sectors, I'm really excited to launch Relish Standards.

Before I set up Relish It I had worked my way through different management roles and eventually into coaching management before I decided to go out on my own.

Almost 10 years I ran Relish It. Through extremely good times and also extremely hard times. Most of you that follow me will know this as I've told my story with honesty (maybe too much) throughout my whole journey.

I've experienced all the highs and all of the lows of running a business. I know how extremely stressful but also how extremely rewarding owning a food business can be.

The one thing I've picked up on throughout the years of networking at events, markets ect was most owners had the same issues.

It wasn't footfall and it wasn't 'bad staff' (always hated that).

More often than not, it's been system and standards that slip away when the owner has not been there.

People often ask why I don't reopen Relish It. The answer is simple: after 15 years of evenings and weekends, I want more time with my family. Being more present for my girls over the last few years has reminded me what matters most.

What I always enjoyed most, whether through Relish It or taking on new roles, was the energy that comes with a new project.
Looking back, I've realised that building systems, developing people and creating consistency was always the part of the job I enjoyed most.

Building systems, developing people and creating consistency is what I've always done. That's exactly why I've launched Relish Standards.

Right folks the time has come.

Later on tonight I am changing the name of this page to..... Drum roll 🥁

"MEALS BY RELISHMAN"

As most of you know I'm making meal preps and seeing how that goes, I'm also working on something big in the back ground and think could be game changing for next year.

Think the name covers most things I'll be doing, meal preps, pop up, collaborations, catering, corporate events, private parties and functions, demonstrations and private personal chef bookings.

It's not too far removed from the brand Relish It as you all know, followed and trusted and I like the name Relish Man. I owe everything to you guys and the Relish It brand. It was just time for me to move on to more suitable and passionate ventures.

Hope you all stick around and see whats to come over the next few years.

How do I say goodbye?

I just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who has ever bought a meal, shared or liked a post or told their friends about us over the years.

To all my staff that's ever worked for me, you were amazing, it didn't always end great between us all but I wanted to say from the bottom of my heart I appreciated every single bit of energy and effort you put in for me.

Letting go of Relish It is about personal growth, it has made me who I am today, I've learned so much and had the best time of my life.

Here's a wee pic throw back from when I started to where we finished up.

A wee shout out to Sarah my wife who never gave up faith in me and rolled with all the ups and downs over the years (there were many). My mum and dad for all the emotional (and financial) support and to my best mate and his wife Stuart and Natz who went over an above what anybody should expect. Stuarty Lowe for the pure graft and never missed a shift or over time and became a close friend I'm over the years those early days were extreme. There's too many others to shout out I'd be here all day but I want you to know how much I appreciated everything you did for me. And to Thonsons butchers who always sorted me out at a drop of a hat even on the days they were closed last minute re stocks and new ideas ect.

Last day serving the Relish It scran.

If today is anything like yesterday I would say get in before 1:30pm as I've had to re-stock after selling out but today the butchers are closed and once this is gone it's gone for good.

You can get loaded fries anywhere but can you get double award winning loaded fries anywhere haha?!

My last wee flex before I close this chapter of my book lol.
