Wainlode Suffolks

I took this picture from the tractor this evening as I came in from the fields. No filter, just as it was. Farming can be tough at times, but it’s a lifestyle and with a view like that I wouldn’t be doing anything else.

A busy few days moving fences, putting in new gates and new water troughs. We’re getting ready for two batches of lambing, one for the pedigree Suffolks and one for the North Country mules which will put us back in the recip market.

12 superb Bluetongue vaccinated North Country Mules join the Wainlode flock today. They’ve had a welcome vet inspection, Zolvix, Cydectin Triclamox and an MV blood test. They’re here to strengthen our ‘Resip’ breeding flock.

A very good day at Worcester Livestock Market Hop & Cheese Fair. The last three of this year’s Suffolk shearlings sold with the best just over £900. All 13 sold this season with the best at £1,670. And that’s the end of the show and sale season for us.

Wainlode Suffolks show season is now over. We’re proud of 10 rosettes in 2026. Just our second showing season. We’ve also sold 10 of our pedigree shearling rams with just three left. They’ll be at the Worcester Hop & Cheese fair this Saturday. See you there!

A great day out yesterday at the Moreton show. The weather was glorious and the Wainlode Suffolks stand attracted a lot of attention from commercial farmers. We were particularly proud to win second prize with our stock ram.

This is one of three shearling rams that we’ve entered for the Worcester hop and cheese fair next Saturday, 12th September.

Not a great picture, but this is one of our entries for the Moreton show tomorrow. Will post some better pictures from the show.
