For those that don't know....
Following some recent deaths in the family I have been diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (ACM). In this weird condition cells in my heart die and are replaced with a fibrous/fatty tissue which interrupts the electrical signals to my heart. This is turn causes arrhythmia which in turn causes all kinds of other issues.
Fortunately for me I am at the early stages of the disease and it has been caught now. Over time its likely to get worse but hopefully that will be years if not decades.
I am taking on the Loch Ness Marathon at the end of this month and have decided to raise some money for Heart Research UK as I don't think a lot is known about my condition - I had never heard of it, have you?
