My lovely customer ordered this cake for her son, and they wanted a minimalist, natural design, no theme necessary.

I dried out lemon slices really slowly in the oven & added white chocolate shavings on top.

Gluten-free cupcakes accompanied, to match.

Lemony loveliness is perfect for summer.

Jacks family have had a rough year so far, so when his 13th birthday was coming around, it was a chance to celebrate.

Jack loves chocolate…and this could not be any more chocolatey! Chocolate chip Oreo brownies, stacked up with more Oreo’s & Cadburys Twirl bites, and a few extra shortybakescakes chocolate shards.

I’ve baked for Simon & Christine since shortybakescakes started 6yrs ago.

Simon’s 80th birthday required a centrepiece surprise cake, and here it is.

A double traybake provides around 40 slices for your party guests.

I was delighted to hear that Simon actually made a little Perspex box to house the fondant decorations that I made. What a compliment ☺️

Enter his dairy-free chocolate & vanilla Dino Island cake, full of Jurassic fun!

When this baking commission came through I had to carefully think about how to make the hot air balloon. Cue a 10cm polyball that I covered with curved shapes of fondant. I hadn’t planned to make the balloon bear sleepy, but when I imagine floating around in a lovely balloon I thought….ooo how relaxing. He then got closed eyes and a night cap.

This cake is full of Victoria sponge loveliness, oh and sports a tiny pair of Converse Europe trainers. 👟

I’ve baked for Sharron Green for a few years now, so when her hubby turned 60, it was time for a Bath Rugby themed cake. He’s a big fan!

Of course, it’s a Gunniness chocolate cake, with velvet vanilla buttercream.
