A few weeks ago I decided to to switch back to a dumb phone. Recently I've found myself doom scrolling. And that's really not a good thing, thats technology rewiring the brain, and I don't want any part of it.

So I now have a normal phone. But my smart phone hasn't been made redundant just yet, as its now being used with my DJI Action 5 Pro camera, and can still receive messages etc via wi-fi when I'm at home or at work.

And to replace the camera, I've just bought myself a proper camera for both food photography and my new blog.

The only thing I need to sort out now is a sat-nav for the car as I won't be able to use Google maps. Once thats sorted I'm no longer attached to the flippin thing, and I must say, I'm very much looking forward to going back to what I call a "normal" life again.

And how funny the government are now bringing in digital ID via the backdoor under the label of "protecting children". I won't be having any of that now thank you, we all know what you're up to, and as much as children need protecting, making everyone give up their biometrics and details tells another story...

On Saturday the 22nd of August we're hosting our next three course meal consisting of a starter, main, and dessert. The main course will be a selection meat-centric curries with veggie sides. The cost is £40 per head.

To reserve your place add this event to your basket and fill in the form. You can book for multiple people on the one form, just make sure you add this event multiple times to the amount of people coming under your booking.

On the form please make sure you fill in all your contact details. You will receive a confirmation email just as you do if you're reserving our curries. I will then send you my bank details.

To reserve you're place/places I will require a deposit of £40 per person. I will ask for payment once I know for sure I have the numbers. I've not asked for a deposit before, but recently I've been messed around and I can't afford to let this happen again.

Every supper we hold has to have at least sixteen people attending. If we don't get those numbers it's not financially viable. So bear this in mind when you book. If for any reason you think you may not be able to attend please do not book until you know you can.

If for any reason the supper has to be cancelled you will receive a full refund. I don't mess people about and I expect the same level of courtesy in return. These suppers take a lot of planning and hard work. I also have to employ people to help me.

I work on the menu one month before the supper. We are not a restaurant, and with that in mind, we offer one set menu. We are happy to work with any food allergies and ask for you to notify us of any allergens you have by adding them to the comments section on the form.

We provide spring water on the tables but we are not licensed. So please bring along your favourite tipple. If there is an ingredient you really don't like, please let us know in the comment section and we'll make sure you're still very well catered for.

Korri Gassi used to be one of our best sellers. But over the years customers and tastes have changed. Korri Gassi (Mangalorean Chicken) is a very flavoursome medium-spiced South Indian chicken curry prepared with fresh coconut. It's absolutely delicious and should be on everyone's orders this week.

I'm also cooking both Honey Murgh Makhani and Chicken Tikka Masala this week. They're both similar in that they both use tomato and cream for their base. But Tikka Masala is milder than Honey Murgh, and Honey Murgh also contains honey (funny enough), as well as fresh green chilli and dried fenugreek.

Chicken Tikka Masala is a classic, Honey Murgh is addictive!

One of the most popular restaurants on the hippie trail was Sigi's in Kabul with Sigi's rice pudding being the most popular menu item. After some online investigation I've found the recipe and will replicate it this week in the deli kitchen.

I love to cook rice pudding with cardamon, saffron, and rose water. In the summer, rice pudding is delicious chilled, topped with ground pistachios.

I'm going to make Sigi's rice pudding, would you like to try some?
