They’re back in season — and I couldn’t be happier! 🍑 Apricots are my absolute favourite fruit: sweet, soft and juicy when fresh, or beautifully tangy and chewy when dried. This Saturday at Hidden Hitchin in the Market Square, I’ll be bringing you something special… my Apricot Crumble Cheesecake! ✨ A delicious twist of creamy cheesecake, buttery crumble and the gorgeous flavour of seasonal apricots.

Probably not a winner… but honestly, this is what Eurovision is all about.

A full evening of fire, glitter, smoke, questionable outfits, violin solos fighting heavy metal, and enough noise to permanently reset your hearing.

Started the day the Viennese way at Café Landtmann with a classic breakfast, then stood in the rain for two hours outside Wiener Stadthalle just to make it through security — and it was worth every second.

Fire. Smoke. Violins colliding with heavy metal. Pure chaos, precision, and adrenaline all under one roof. The craziest show in town and an atmosphere that felt absolutely electric.

Now the music’s over, the adrenaline’s settling, and we’re just here waiting for the results… What. A. Day

Why not come along on my short break to Vienna for the Eurovision Song Contest final and soak up the atmosphere? 🎤✨

We’re staying in Vienna’s 16th district — Ottakring — which is famous for its brewery, so technically this is also a cultural and scientific research trip.😁

Vienna has 23 districts, and they spiral outwards from the city centre like a giant cinnamon roll of history, coffee and cake. The 1st district, Innere Stadt, is the heart of Vienna and packed with famous sights: the Hofburg Palace, the opera house, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and, of course, Hotel Sacher — home of the legendary Sachertorte, which is basically chocolate cake with diplomatic immunity.

So the plan is simple: Eurovision drama, Austrian beer, imperial architecture and enough coffee to keep us emotionally invested in every key change.
What could possibly go wrong?
