Over the weekend, Rayners Lane’s own Dev Patel stopped by Pinner to sample some of the area’s standout Sri Lankan cuisine at Yako, Pinner! 🇱🇰

If you’re looking for a flavour-packed Sri Lankan treat right here in Harrow, Yako’s weekend menu serves up an unforgettable chicken, pork or fish lamprais that’s well worth the visit.

Lamprais is a historic Sri Lankan dish - its name coming from the Dutch word “lomprijst”, meaning “a parcel of rice”. Created by the Dutch Burgher community in Sri Lanka, it traditionally features rice cooked in stock, a few rich curries, sambols, all wrapped in banana leaf and baked until fragrant and deeply flavourful.

Yako’s version brings this fusion of history and taste to life, blending aromatic rice with tender fish, pork or chicken, a classic fish cutlet and tangy pickle - a dish shaped by centuries of cultural heritage.
