Hathern Honey was set up to create an unprocessed (raw) natural, delicious and local honey 🍯

Our apiary resides in a village orchard, where the bees 🐝 have access to the best sources of pollen and nectar 🌻 (away from farms and pesticides)

First time opening the hives today and GREAT news!! The bees 🐝🐝 have survived this horrible, damp winter 🌧
We're so happy! 😊 🥰
They're already busy bringing in pollen and building up their numbers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the numerous beekeepers that lost hives 🙏

Autumn/Winter ❄️ is our quiet time. The bees reduce their numbers and huddle together to keep warm. We feed them "bee fondant" which has the appearance and texture of very thick white icing. To keep the hives dry, we add a tarpaulin.

Finally, we pray 🙏 that we have a mild winter and that our girls 🐝 🐝 endure these critical months. It's quite a helpless feeling but we have faith that we've done all we can to ensure their survival.

Here's a close up of the girls 🐝🐝 getting the last of the pollen in. If you look closely you can see the little yellow balls 🟡 of pollen stuck to their legs.

Sorry for the long wait. Between bad weather 🌧 and holidays we've been pretty busy ourselves, but we're ready to begin our final harvest of the year! Yay! 🥳🥳

Hopefully 🤞🤞we'll have some honey 🍯 for sale soon, so.....watch this space 👀..... (it all depends on what we find in the hives, that's why it's hard to be certain)

In the meantime we're taking preorders, first come, first serve. This time we're asking for a 50% deposit (£5) as last time lots of people preordered but then didn't respond and we missed out on selling to genuine buyers.

We're waiting for a dry weekend (not this week unfortunately) but the next one we get we've got plenty of frames ready to harvest our delicious honey 😋 😀
