The Half Irish - Blaydon
- Subterranean multi-roomed Micro pub behind a suspect door
- Everyone knows everyone else - the way a pub should be
- Friendly regulars and an awesome dog called Fudge
- 2 ales - the Firebrick was lush.
- well worth a visit

Whiteheads Marine Bar has been saved from closure.. which is unexpectedly good news considering most under threat bars in NI close and catch fire, catch fire then close or are demolished in the middle of the night, then closed, then catch fire.

The Black Bull - Blaydon
- Two room traditional pub
- Huge selection of sandwiches in the main bar (I dunno what was going on)
- Nice suntrap b**r garden over looking the Tyne
- 3 decent ales on
- Reminded me of The Old Fox in Felling.( Not sure why)

Cavavin - Newcastle
- Railway arch w**e bar/Offies (they might prefer W**e Merchant to Offies)
- A nice change of pace from my usual haunts
- A great spot for a quiet catch-up with mates
- Attentive knowledgeable staff
- The sample menu is a bargain

Amber Taverns are opening 'The Gander' which replaces Newcastles short-lived Magpie. Named in an 'hilarious' nod to the previous incarnation The Goose

I haven't been in any Amber Taverns pubs in years,not through lack of trying but because you have to clamber over one too many mobility scooters to get in

The Delaval Arms - Seaton Sluice
- Impressive weathered old building
- Inside it's a proper pub with rooms sprouting off the main entrance hallway
- I was pretty lashed by this point,(as you can tell from the photo) but I know they had a couple of ales on

Yadda Yadda trad music, Fierce Craic that will be 90, other stuff that will be both traditional and contemporary, Guitar Wankers
