Calving this year was drawn out. We put it down to a dry summer & wet winter messing with mother nature's biological bits. This is our last calf of the season out of 'Queenie ', our most senior cow.
She is a heifer (female), we hope to keep her for breeding eventually.

Letting out the girls early in the morning before the heat rises. They have everything they need in the shed - water, food, fans, dust baths and even hydrating minerals through the water lines BUT we always provide extra water outside in hot weather. They LOVE an open trough.

A BIG surprise when checking the cameras sunday morning! 'Pearl' had given birth to a bonny heifer (girl) calf a month early. Strong, lively and suckling well 😁

One of the challenges, in this freezing weather, is making sure all livestock have water. We switched the pigs to a trough. After a drink they like to play with ice cubes and blow bubbles. 😂 sound on.

We let the cows open their Christmas presents early. Big automatic brush for the breeding herd, small springy one for this year's calves. 😁
