🌿 A little reminder to look after our countryside 🌿

Today we went for a walk around the fields and along the lane by the farm, and unfortunately, even from just a small section of the lane, we managed to pick up all of this litter. 😔

There were cans, bottles, wrappers and all sorts of rubbish that had simply been left behind or thrown into the hedgerow.

The other day when we did the same walk, we also picked up a couple of glass bottles that had been thrown into the hedges. Not only is this unsightly, but broken glass can be extremely dangerous for wildlife. 🐄🦔🐕

We’re more than happy to pick up what we can when we’re out walking, but it’s such a shame that it’s necessary in the first place.

Please, if you’re enjoying the countryside, take your rubbish home with you. 🌳💚
Let’s all do our bit to keep our lanes and hedgerows clean and safe for everyone.

🥛🐄 The youngest member of our herd! ❤️

Little Martha has been enjoying a taste of our award-winning Elliscombe Farm milk! 🥰

We love seeing our milk enjoyed by all ages and Martha certainly seems to approve! 🍼🐄

🥛 How our milk bottles have changed over the years… 🐄

We thought we’d take a little look back at how things have changed here at Elliscombe Farm.

Our original milk bottles proudly carried the initials of the late Claude & Jean Wadman a lovely reminder of where our journey began and who built the foundations of the farm.

But it’s not just our milk bottles that have changed… the farm itself has come a long way too! 🚜

The old photos bring back memories of our traditional milking parlour, where the cows were milked by hand and everything was a very different way of life. Today, we’ve moved on to a modern automated milking system, bringing new technology into the farm while still keeping the same care and attention for our cows at the heart of everything we do. 🐄❤️

Today, our bottles proudly carry the Elliscombe Farm name, along with our Great Taste Award stamp something we’re incredibly proud of. 🏆🥛

I think Claude and Jean would be looking down on the farm today with huge pride, seeing everything we are continuing to build and achieve.

The farm shop is going from strength to strength, and there’s plenty happening behind the scenes too. We’re currently building a new calf shed and new slurry storage, helping us to keep improving the farm and investing in its future. 🌱🚜

From the original bottles, the old milking parlour and the cows resting on straw, to our modern automated milking system, growing farm shop and new buildings it’s amazing to look back and see just how far Elliscombe Farm has come.

One thing that hasn’t changed, though, is the passion for farming Claude and Jean started all those years ago. ❤️

Another busy day cutting maize here at Elliscombe Farm! 🌽🚜

Three fields cut today and we’re still going the pits are filling up nicely! 💪

It’s certainly strange seeing the fields so dusty while cutting maize. Normally,when cutting maize it’s mudd, with the odd occasion where we manage to get stuck! 😂 This year has been very different, with the ground staying incredibly dry.

A big thank you to everyone out in the fields keeping things moving. Here’s hoping we get some much needed rain! 🌽

🌽 Maize harvest is stepping up today! 🌽

It’s all systems go as we get stuck into this year’s maize harvest. Considering how early we are harvesting, some of the crop is looking really decent! 🚜

The cobs are full of starch and energy, which will provide a valuable feed source for our cows throughout the winter. 🐄🌽

Plenty more to come over the next few days let’s get it in the clamp! 💪

🌽 Maize harvest is underway at Elliscombe Farm! 🌽

We’re getting started around a month earlier than usual this year. You can see in the video how the maize is already starting to turn colour — a sign of just how much the current weather is bringing things forward.

Baby Martha has been out and about checking on the dry cows this evening, making sure there are no new arrivals to report! 🥰👀

After her important farm duties, she stopped to say goodnight to the girls… although they seemed more interested in giving her feet a good lick! 😂🐄👣

A very sweet way to end the day at Elliscombe Farm. ❤️
