Our knit and natter will be returning this Friday (28th August) at the spring community cafe in Saint George’s health and wellbeing hub. Hosted by one of our wonderful volunteers. This is an opportunity to meet new people, gain new skills and have fun! All you need to bring is yourself!! All equipment is included and the session is completely free to whoever may be interested.

We are starting at 10am to 12pm but feel free to arrive or leave whenever suits you :) we hope to see you there!!

Good afternoon all! I hope you’re enjoying the slightly cooler weather this week!

I just wanted to pop by and say that’s we truly want our little cafe to be a space that everyone can enjoy, but we are also a business that exists to make money- we are not a waiting area nor a canteen. With this in mind, we kindly ask that no food or drink from outside is consumed on our premises (inside or in the courtyard). We serve delicious food and coffee on a daily basis and make everything with love. We need to keep tables and chairs clear for paying customers. We hope your understand 💚

Ps. We will make an exception for young children who are accompanied by an adult that has purchased something from the cafe, just ask us for a plate ☺️

This week we have introduced an exciting new menu concept for you all to enjoy now the weather is .. well… unbearable mostly.

Build your own pasta salad bowls! Simply buy your base, select your protein, extras and sauce… and enjoy!!

Calling all local hospitality businesses 📣

The spring community cafe is, first and foremost, a charity that focuses on providing low cost food and drink to the local community. But we are also dedicated to ensuring members of the community have a safe and inviting place to meet new people, and feel accepted. With this being said I am reaching out to local hospitality businesses with a community event idea that I would like to execute as a one off in the summer months.

The event will be a ‘Cultural Cuisine Day’ and the idea is that local restaurant owners will come with cuisines from all over the world and offer samples to the local community. You will be advertising your business, and people can donate to your business where they see fit. What I’m hoping is that it will allow members of the community to try something they wouldn’t normally try, spark up discussions and allow everyone to appreciate and learn about other cultures.

Like I said, this is all just an idea at the moment but if enough people are happy to get involved I don’t see why this couldn’t be a lovely, wholesome day for the whole community. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or ideas.

Absolutely anyone is welcome, there is no sign up fee… all we ask is that if you are able to make a small donation to contribute to equipment for future sessions, we would be grateful. Oh and of course, grab yourself a hot or cold drink while your here ☺️☺️💚

Starting from Monday 29th June the Spring Community Cafe at Saint George’s Health and Wellbeing hub will be a safe haven for those searching for support in their journey to an alcohol free life.

The idea of the meetings is that they are inclusive and welcoming for everyone. So if you or someone you know could benefit from attending, please feel free to simply drop by at 7pm every Monday starting from 29th June. Refreshments will be available.
