Brazil, but not as you know it.
Since the 1870s, Ipanema Gourmet has been shaping Brazilian coffee — not just at scale, but with a constant drive for innovation and quality.
In 2018, they took this one step further with the launch of their Premier Cru collection: a series of very small, handcrafted lots produced from the highest elevations of their oldest estate, Rio Verde Farm. Set across 1,566 hectares, Rio Verde rises from 700 up to over 1,000 metres above sea level. It is here, across just 260 hectares of peak terrain, that the story truly begins. This high-altitude section is divided into 32 distinct glebes — individual plots, each with its own altitude, sun exposure, soil composition, and a single varietal.
These micro-environments create coffees with remarkable clarity, structure, and individuality.
Every year, Ipanema releases a new collection under a unique identity — from Aura Matina to Grano Perfetto — each representing a moment in time, captured through terroir and craft. Each lot is carefully hand-harvested and processed using a method selected specifically to highlight its character. The result is then classified into one of three editions — Black, Gold, or Blue — reflecting both rarity and cup complexity, in a system reminiscent of fine whisky. These are not typical Brazilian profiles. They are precise, expressive, and designed to stand apart.
