This photograph is not just any old photograph but a rather blurry hazy one of the latest must have Strawberry and Cream Cheese Sandwich from M and S.

I had heard that these were pretty hard to get so jumped at the chance of spending the £3.20 fee for a wee treat this fine Monday when spotted in Marks and Soencers at Haymarket.

It is bit of mind gane this sandwich as you think nah cheese and strawberry. Yuck. But bite in for a lovely fresh, British Summer tasty bite. Sweet almost brioche style bread, light fluffy creme fraiche and tasty strawberries.

I could see this taking up a spot at the finger buffet in The King’s Garden Party or the best High Tea platters.

Bit quirky and a bit of fun yes. Certainly made my monday morning. Give it a go.

Something really odd happened yesterday…

Team TT walked away from a gin festival more or less sober AND empty handed. Not one gin bottle was purchased….and I think we are still trying to figure that one out. There is very few things as good as the prospect of hearing genuine stories about gin journeys, botanicals and launching unique gin flavours. Lesley is also happy to listen to a rum tale or two.

But this festival seemed different. There were actually so few distillers exhibiting at this event. It was not going to take four hours to make our merry way round. The halls were a bit crowded and the noise levels made it difficult to hear the stories.

It was great to hear the stories from and we never made it to speak to but should have. Wee did ooo and ahhh over the gorgeous bottle from

Did you go and what did you think? Whats happening in the gin world in Edinburgh or Scotland. Tell us where can we go for that authentic Scottish Gin experience….we want to know 🫶🏻. Its not put us off our love of a good gin story. We just want to know where we can get it? Recommendations please?

Would recommend a wee toastie from here 👍🏻

Hello you beautiful people of Kirkcaldy!

We would just like to thank all of our loyal and new customers supporting us at our new pitch across the road from Stephen’s the bakers in SM Electrical Supplies Ltd car park on Oswald Road.

The move has been a huge success and this could not be possible without SM Electrical giving us the opportunity to trade from their premise which we are extremely grateful for their support in our local small family business.

To anyone who hasn’t popped by we are open Thursday’s and Fridays 7:30am - 3pm with a great selection of hot food, home made cakes and Barista coffees and iced drinks.

You can also preorder online through our page from the day before us opening.

If you have any allergen requests please message us at least a day prior and we will do our very best to accommodate you.

Love Gin? Keep Track of Your Favourites with Our Gin Tasting Journal! - We are super excited to be heading to Gin to My Tonic on 1st March! This event is extra special to us because it’s the reason we started Tasting Times in the first place.
After attending countless gin tastings, we realised that by the time we got home, we struggled to remember which gins we loved and why… So, we created the Gin Tasting Journal!

This beautifully designed journal includes:
✔️ Sections for tasting notes
✔️ Space to rate each gin out of 10
✔️ A guide to help identify flavours
✔️ A handy section to note the price and whether you’d buy it again.

It’s the perfect gift for a gin-loving friend or a great way to keep track of your own collection.

Lesley’s all time favourite gin is Dà Mhìle Seaweed (£34.49 from Masters of Malt) – a light, coastal-inspired gin best enjoyed with slimline tonic and nothing else, letting the flavours shine. Meanwhile, Sharron’s top pick is (Biggar Spirits )Biggar Gin one of the first Gins we tasted and still Sharron's favourite.

If you're heading to a gin tasting event this year or just love discovering new gins, you can grab your Gin Tasting Journal on our Etsy store for only £8 (including postage)!
Don’t miss out – order yours today and never forget a great gin again! 🍸✨
P.S Edinburgh Gin to My Tonic is also featuring vodka and Rum this year. 28th Feb-1st march, Central Hall Edinburgh 😁

This morning I was still determined to be healthy. And then I saw a photo in Love Kirkcaldy! that made me realise life is too short.

A photo of a chocolate nougat wafer with icecream availabe in Valenties Chip Shop. There was a mere mention that these wafers were stopping being made and this was enough. I had to have one.

Active wear for another day or so wont hurt. Raspberry ripple icecream heaven. Chocolate and nougat with a crispy bite of heaven. I think I got the third last one. Run dont walk. This was a moment. 💖

I have read alot this week about glimmers. The opposite of triggers. Something small that makes you feel good and you go with it. At Christmas time we are surrounded by triggers so a glimmer is most certainly something to make the most of when it appears.

Glimmers for Lesley and I usually involve a nice coffee, something tasty and a good laugh. Today”s glimmer originated from a full on three course lunch full of good quality food at The Ecology Centre The Nest,Kinghorn

A small and cosy setting with ample parking and gorgeous views of Kinghorn Loch. Friendly staff who cook and serve and make you feel most welcome. Three courses with a soft drink and a coffee for just over £15. Fantastic.

Lovely fresh soup, beautiful turkey with all the trimmings. Amazing Mince Pie Crumble and custard. Tucked in and left feeling festive and cheery. I think the Christmas lunches are all booked up but if you would like a stroll and a bacon roll in the New Year this place is certainly recommended.

One of us got asked out for afternoon tea. Sharron Wilson ..... I'm sorry to say you missed out on a treat, but I would happily go again!
The newly opened Havn.Kirkcaldy cafe at the end of the prom was booked by my friend for their xmas afternoon tea at 1pm.
2 hours of constant eating and chatting we rolled out the cafe, full and satisfied.
I can definately say this was one of the best afternoon teas I have ever had in Fife. We started with pigs in blankets and a delicious brocoli quiche followed by a selection of super soft sandwiches, generously filled with salmon and cream cheese, turkey and ham. Followed by a freshly baked scone, jam and cream. Washed down with a glass of Mulled w**e and rather lovely coffee. There was also a magnificent selection of cakes but we just could't quite manage them and came away with a doggy bag for later.
Speaking of doggy bags....this cafe is dog friendly and there were lots of lovely well-behaved pooches in, taking a rest after a walk along the prom.
The Havn has a lovely warm feeling as soon as you enter and all the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
We wish you all the success with your new venture. The coffee is ace and all the homemade baking looks amazing.
If anyone fancies the afternoon tea, please note that you will need to book in advance. X
