Farm Manager Position Available– South West Scotland
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Farm Manager to take responsibility for a progressive mixed livestock farm in South West Scotland.
The farm comprises approximately 1,000 acres, running:
• 1,000 breeding ewes
• 55 pedigree Luing breeding cows
• 20 replacement heifers
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the farming operation, including:
• Livestock management and animal husbandry
• Forage crop production and grassland management
• Sheep and cattle record keeping
• Flock and herd health planning
• General farm maintenance and oversight
This is a hands-on position ideally suited to a practical, self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the operation. The farm is run on a New Zealand-style grass-based system and has recently benefited from significant investment, including upgraded sheep handling facilities.
Essential requirements:
• Proven livestock farming experience
• Strong stockmanship skills
• Good organisational and record-keeping abilities
• Own working sheepdogs
• Full driving licence
