We've been a little quiet on here recently as I've been away on holiday, but I'm back and HomePlate has been keeping busy.

With October just around the corner, we're heading into the perfect time of year for proper home-cooked comfort food.

Cottage pie, shepherd's pie, casseroles, creamy mash, vegetables and plenty of lovely gravy. Just good, hearty food that you can have waiting in the freezer.

Everything is cooked by us here in Leamington Spa, frozen ready for your freezer and delivered locally.

HomePlate is perfect for an older parent or relative who could do with some lovely home-cooked meals, or simply for anyone who wants the convenience of a freezer stocked with proper dinners.

We're also trying out some new dishes for autumn, so there'll be a few new additions coming soon.

If you'd like to see our current menu or find out how it works, just pop us a message.

What makes HomePlate different to other frozen meal suppliers?

We get asked this a lot, and sometimes the easiest way to explain it is simply to show you.

These are the ingredients from our Turkey Roast Dinner compared with another frozen turkey dinner.

At HomePlate, we cook whole turkeys ourselves. We use fresh vegetables and simple, everyday ingredients — the sort of things you'd expect to find in your own kitchen.

We don't use formed turkey, and we don't add preservatives or additives to make our meals last longer. We cook them, portion them and freeze them.

The other ingredient list speaks for itself: 17% formed turkey alongside stabilisers, modified starch, dextrose, preservatives and a long list of other ingredients.

For us, frozen food doesn't have to mean highly processed food.

It's proper home-cooked food that just happens to be frozen.

Have a look at the two ingredient lists and see the difference for yourself.

September in Leamington...

The kids are back at school, the students are back in town and we're all pretending we're not thinking about putting the heating on yet.

If you've just arrived back at uni and the novelty of noodles, toast and takeaways has already worn off, we can help.

HomePlate Co makes proper homemade dinners, cooked locally and delivered frozen to your door. No artificial additives or preservatives, just decent food that tastes like someone actually made it for you.

And parents, if you've dropped them off and are already wondering if they're eating properly - send us their address. We'll feed them.

Much cheaper than nine months of Deliveroo too.

It’s not always about the food… although when you taste ours, you’ll know it’s definitely up there!

At HomePlate, of course we’re proud of the food. Proper homemade meals, cooked locally, with good portions and delivered straight to your door.

But sometimes a HomePlate visit turns into something completely different.

One of my recent deliveries ended up with me becoming a slightly questionable TV repair woman! A customer couldn’t get their television working properly and, with a bit of patience and the help of some very basic online guides, we managed to get it sorted.

That’s the bit of HomePlate you don’t necessarily see on a menu.

For customers who want it, we’re not just dropping a bag of meals at the door and rushing off. We’ll have a chat, check everything is OK and, occasionally, apparently fix the TV!

So yes, the food is a huge part of what we do – tasty, homemade meals that make life that little bit easier.

But we also think the person answering the door matters too!!

Menus for September 7th & 14th now available please message for a copy.

Apparently we’re heading into our 5th heatwave of the year and there’s a solar eclipse on Wednesday.

So basically it’s going to be ridiculously hot and then someone’s turning the lights off.

Don’t be left in the dark wondering what to have for dinner.

Fill your freezer with HomePlate meals instead. Homemade here in Leamington, delivered frozen and ready to heat when you want them.

Because standing over a cooker in another heatwave sounds like nobody’s idea of fun.

No subscription, no commitment, just order what you fancy.

Apparently we've finally got some rain on the way.

I do love the sunshine, but after weeks of dry weather I think the gardens are crying out for it. Mind you, I'll believe it when I actually see it!

One thing you don't have to worry about, whatever the weather, is standing in the kitchen wondering what to cook.

If your freezer's looking a bit empty, we've got homemade meals ready to fill it. Freshly cooked in Leamington, frozen the same day and delivered each week.

So if you fancy avoiding the cooking for a night (or seven!), just let us know.
