Chaophraya takes its name from the main waterway in Thailand. In ancient times the Chao Phaya River breathed life into the families who lived along its banks. Today the river is still regarded as part of the essence of Thailand which is where we take our inspiration from. Chaophraya offers Thai Gourmet dining in inspirational surroundings. Serving authentic Thai cuisine, freshly prepared by highly
skilled chefs, in open display kitchens. Restaurants are often set over two or three floors, with significant investment in interior design. Out sites are dining destinations and tend to occupy statement buildings, including Europe’s largest Thai Restaurant and a roof top with stunning city views, up to 17,000 Sq-Ft in size and accommodating up to 350 covers. The growth achieved since 2004 has created a niche market of Thai gourmet dining in prime locations, including Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Sheffield. Brands operating within the Chaophraya family include Palm Sugar Lounge Bar, Chaobaby Thai Banquet and YeeRah. You can expect to see traditional features including: a takeout waiting area, open onto the street allowing customers to purchase a taste of Thailand. This particular feature can be tailored to suit the premises location. Furniture is a mixture of bench style seating with butchers block table tops and rustic bases. An eclectic mix of quirky low level industrial pendant lights painted in vibrant orange illuminate the space enhancing the brand and creating atmosphere. The full length (unit layout permitting) of the right hand wall has a huge regional image of Thailand which is tailored to the location of the site, creating a distinctive feel to each unit. This new concept is flexible although initially the focus will be on city centre, high street and shopping centre locations. Core business districts alongside satellite stores in cities where there is also an existing Chaophraya restaurant are top of our list. As is quality regional shopping centres where complimentary casual dining outlets are located. Our new Thaikhun sites will be between 3,000 - 4,000 Sq-Ft in size, ideally over one level, however alternative configurations will be considered. The first Thaikhun opened on The Avenue at Spinningfields in Manchester in May 2014, the second site (first in Scotland) opens in July.
