There’s something ridiculously satisfying about watching silky smooth milk chocolate slowly pour into a conche. 😮‍💨

A little behind-the-scenes moment from our first commercial production run of Proper Milk in Italy.

From experimenting with recipes in our little Leicester workshop to watching our very own chocolate being made on a much bigger scale.

Still feels rather surreal.

Meet Valentina from our chocolate factory in Italy.

She doesn’t like dates. So naturally, we made her try our chocolate dates 😂

Her verdict? “It’s good.”

Now, according to everyone at the factory, Valentina saying “it’s good” is the equivalent of getting a Hollywood Handshake AND a Michelin star on the same day 🤯

She gave us 7/10

Frankly, we’re considering a national day of celebration.

No, we’re not giving Proper Milk a massage 😂

This is the vibrating stage of chocolate making.

It helps release trapped air bubbles and ensures the chocolate settles properly into every corner of the mould.

One of those little details that makes a big difference to the finished bar.

This is Proper Milk. Fresh from the mill. 🍫

After months of testing, tweaking and five different versions, we’ve finally made our first commercial batch.

British milk & sugar.
Real cocoa butter.
No palm oil.
Proper old-school milk chocolate, just like you remember.

And yes… it really does come out looking this good.

We got tired of waiting for milk chocolate to taste like chocolate again… so we made our own. 🍫

Proper Milk is getting real.

The 30g pilot bars are now available to order, and this is just the beginning, the proper production bars will be bigger.
