So today marks six years that for many, their world turned upside down. For us it’s six years today since we had to close our doors for the very first time. I remember feeling so numb as I feared what the future held for us as a family and business.

Whilst we are still here to tell the tale in general the hospitality business is on its knees. This is due to a combination of issues: food inflation prices, utility bill hikes, minimum wage increases, national insurance increases and increasing business rates. We live above our business and work 90-100 hours a week which we always do with pride and to the best of our ability. The stress of walking away from our business if things get tougher always worries me because it is our safe place and our family home.

The world is tough out there. The world has not recovered from Covid and it will never be the same again.

I thank each and everyone of you for supporting our business and we hope to continue for the unforseeable future.

Spent a couple of weeks doing some maintenance work. Painted the inside of the pub, had new lights fitted outside, potholes filled in the car park and new plants in the front wall. Always jobs to do, but enjoy keeping it looking nice and inviting.
