Who will win the speed shear? Marked the end of shearing with a speed shear for a bit of fun. We sheared 760 lambs today and that’s shearing done for 2026!

Another busy day shearing tomorrow and then we’re done for 2026! Got 750-800 lambs to do tomorrow. It was the group that had haemonchus so don’t know how they’ll shear! But will be glad to get them done!

Is this the future? Buying a few rams today of gone way over budget but you know. Well done to them for a great sale and look forward to seeing the rams in the flesh.

Getting some crystalx tubs out to the sheep. Having some heavy rain aswell, hopefully make the grass start growing.

Another new venture, looking at fattening more cattle and reducing the sucklers. We had these 50 out of our calf sheds today through Dunbia. They do a system were you pay for the calf when it goes so you haven’t got to front the costs and for us we save paying the interest on a loan. We are looking at taking 50 every 3/4 months so we have extra cash flow throughout the year.

Always something with sheep, got abit of Haemonchus gone through this bunch of lambs, getting a zolvix in to clear up as had a yellow wormer 4 weeks ago. Got to get ontop of it early else you can loose a lot of sheep from it.
