Today we celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, foster fathers, and father figures who make a difference in our lives.

Father’s Day is celebrated across the UK, the USA, most of Europe, and many other parts of the world as an opportunity to recognise the love, support, guidance, and encouragement that fathers and father figures provide every day.

From sharing stories and adventures to creating treasured family memories, today is a chance to say thank you to the special people who help shape our lives.

From everyone at the Llanelli Railway Goods Shed, we wish all dads and father figures a wonderful Father’s Day filled with happiness, appreciation, and quality time with loved ones.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers for all your amazing efforts today. ❤️

From chopping and mixing fresh coleslaw to baking delicious homemade quiche, every contribution was made with care, kindness, and a real sense of community. It was lovely to spend the day together, sharing laughs, teamwork, and plenty of hard work.

Last but certainly not least, we’d like to shine a spotlight on Gareth and thank him for the incredible support he provides to our Neurodiverse Group every Wednesday.

Gareth plays a vital role in helping group members attend and participate in sessions, offering support from the moment they arrive and throughout the day. His calm, patient, and encouraging approach helps create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable, valued, and included.

Whether he’s helping people get to the Goods Shed, offering reassurance, or supporting activities during the sessions, Gareth is always there with a helping hand and a friendly smile.

After returning to volunteering following major surgery, Gills has shown incredible resilience and commitment. Rather than slowing down, she has thrown herself back into supporting our community with the same energy and enthusiasm that we all know and admire.

Gills consistently goes above and beyond, taking on challenges with a smile and setting an example for us all. Her drive, strength, and willingness to help others seem to put the rest of us to shame—she truly jumps over all our heads when it comes to dedication and getting things done!

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Josh 🌟

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Josh, one of our youngest and most enthusiastic volunteers at the Goods Shed!

At just 11 years old, Josh has shown incredible confidence, responsibility, and a willingness to help others. He can confidently assist with a whole room of participants during our Skills Station Soap Making Workshops, helping ensure everyone has an enjoyable and successful experience.

Josh is always ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed. Recently, he went out of his way to help a visitor locate a QR code, demonstrating the kindness and initiative that make him such a valued member of our volunteer team.

His positive attitude, eagerness to help, and dedication to supporting others are an inspiration to volunteers of all ages.
