It fills me with immense pride to say that I'm officially a Gripper Jiu Jitsu Goole blue belt π
-
It's genuinely difficult to put this one into words but I'm gonna have a go...
-
A piece of coloured fabric might not look like much to some, but I know exactly what went into earning it. The hours on the mats. The brutal rounds. The losses. The frustration. The injuries. The real, physical blood, sweat and tears. The days where I felt like I was getting nowhere, and the days where something finally clicked. It's been some serious graft.
-
A proverb that kept coming up when I started at Gripper is βIron sharpens iron.β And I've felt the meaning of that since the moment I joined.
-
Being surrounded by people who constantly push me, challenge me and expose my flaws has forced me to grow. Every person I've trained with has exposed a weakness, taught me something or pushed me further than I thought I could go. Grinding that iron.
-
To the lads at Gripper β thank you. You've absolutely battered me, humbled me, encouraged me and helped me become a much better grappler. Most importantly, thank you for welcoming me into the family and for continuing to sharpen me. For that, I am forever grateful.
-
The feeling of getting my blue belt from none other than the Yorkshiregripper himself will stay with me forever. So a big thanks to the top-shagger π€πΌ

Finally, big love to everyone I've trained with throughout my journey so far. All the boys at Bev for starting me off on my journey and showing me the ropes. All the lads at Carlsons that showed me the true meaning of top pressure. Every person, every round and every lesson has played a part in getting me here. There are far too many to tag but I appreciate every single one of you.
-
The belt is a bonus. But the confidence, commitment and mindset I've developed along the way are the real rewards.
-
I'm incredibly proud of this one π
