Join us for our Spring Tasting at Ealing Wine Cellars.

An evening of tasting, attentive discovery and thoughtful conversation. From the first sparkle of Champagne to the depth of a full-bodied red, our Spring Tasting follows a gentle rhythm designed to let each wine shine.

Wednesday 11 March 2026 | 6–8pm Ealing Cross Building, W5 Tickets £25, redeemable against any wine order.

To prepare for the evening, we have put together a wine tasting guide, the same approach we follow throughout the tasting.

Story Wine tasting is about more than technique. It is about understanding the journey in your glass. Inspired by years of tasting and a touch of wisdom from Jancis Robinson, we have put together a guide to help you savour each step from the first sparkle of Champagne to the depth of a red.

Reading the story behind each wine, its producer, vineyard or vintage, brings clarity and connection. Wine is an agricultural product first, a luxury second. Every soil, climate and human touch leaves its mark.

The Flow Start light, end with weight. Champagne first, whites next, reds last. Lighter wines are easily overshadowed if tasted too late, so the order matters.
Look first, smell twice, sip slowly. Hold the glass by the stem, pour only a quarter, and let each wine reveal itself.

Be Present A tasting is as much about conversation as it is about flavour. Ask questions, take notes and enjoy the discussion. Expertise guides, but your enjoyment leads.

Monchiero Fratelli

Classic Barolo, shaped by family and place.

We like our Barolo expressive, elegant, and rooted in tradition, and Monchiero Fratelli delivers exactly that.

Story:
Founded in the 1950s by brothers Remo and Maggiorino, Monchiero Fratelli is a family-run estate now in the hands of the third generation. Vittorio Monchiero works alongside his sons, Luca and Stefano, continuing a legacy built on patience, precision, and deep respect for Barolo’s heritage.

Lay of the land:
The winery is based in the historic village of Castiglione Falletto, at the heart of the Langhe. Vineyards span some of Barolo’s most celebrated communes, including Castiglione Falletto, La Morra, and Alba, each bringing its own character to the wines.

Vineyards:
The estate covers 35 hectares, farmed sustainably with a focus on balance and terroir expression. Careful vineyard work allows Monchiero Fratelli to produce both single-vineyard Barolos and finely tuned commune blends.

Wines:
Traditional and terroir-driven in style, the Barolos are defined by structure, elegance, and ageing potential. The Montanello vineyard has earned particular acclaim, winning Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024, cementing Monchiero Fratelli’s reputation as a benchmark Barolo producer.

Explore the Monchiero Fratelli collection online, with delivery or collection available from our Ealing office at ealingwinecellars.com or taste the winemaker’s wines in person at our Spring Tasting event.

Grachet Duchemin

A breath of fresh air in Maranges.

We like our Burgundy with a little lift, and Grachet Duchemin delivers just that.

Story:
Burgundy-born Marion Grachet, the daughter of a winemaker, now runs the family estate with her husband, Arnaud. A former secondary school teacher, Marion met Arnaud when they were both teachers. As time went on, they realised they weren’t nvery happy in their jobs, so when her father approached retirement, she decided to return to the domaine, embarking Arnaud on her winemaker’s journey. When her father retired, they took over together, officially founding Domaine Grachet-Duchemin in 2018.

Lay of the land:
Based in Maranges at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, the domaine farms a quietly impressive range of appellations, including Maranges, Santenay, Saint Aubin and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, an area increasingly valued for elegant wines.

Vineyards:
The estate spans 10 hectares, with vines aged between 5 and 40 years. Farming follows lutte raisonnée, prioritising balance, sustainability and respect for terroir.

Wines:
The style is defined by restraint and clarity. Whites are fermented in old oak to build texture without weight, while reds are mostly destemmed and aged in a mixed of old and new oak for about a year.

Explore the Grachet Duchemin collection online, with delivery or collection available from our Ealing office at ealingwinecellars.com or taste the winemaker’s wines in person at our Spring Tasting event.

This Christmas, offer more than a gift; offer a curated experience. Our Premium Festive Bundle brings together three exceptional wines and a complimentary bottle of Terenzuola Extra Virgin Olive Oil, each chosen for its high quality. A gift that will impress and delight.

NV Thienot Brut – Elegant and smooth Champagne to begin any celebration. Its precise structure and gentle bubbles provide a refined introduction to festive moments.

2023 St Aubin 1er Cru La Chateniere, Domaine Grachet-Duchemin – A Chardonnay layered with rich texture and complexity typical of Burgundy. Produced by a young, sustainably focused Burgundy estate. This wine combines depth and power, ideal alongside seafood, poultry, or even cheese (yes, Cheese and Chardonnay are a fabulous pairing).

2019 Barolo Giachini, Carlo Revello & Figli – A Barolo of character and structure, aged for 2 years before being released. Made from 70 years old vines, this is a bottle to enjoy now or drink in a few years’ time.

Terenzuola Extra Virgin Olive Oil – From Liguria’s coastal vineyards, Ivan Giuliani’s oil reflects the landscape: mineral-driven, fresh, and precise. A product of low-intervention, organic principles, it complements both wine and cuisine.

Each component has a story rooted in place, craft, and vision. Beautifully presented, this bundle is ready to gift or elevate your Christmas table.

🌿 Celebrating World Tree Olive Day

Today we’re honouring the cultural, historical and economic significance of the olive tree, an enduring symbol of tradition and craftsmanship. Olive oil remains valued for its versatility in cooking, its exceptional flavour, and its recognised health benefits.

To mark the day, we’re highlighting two of our favourite olive oils:

Toscana, Terenzuola: Beautifully complex with a peppery character that elevates your finest dishes. A standout example of why Tuscan winemakers also produce some of the world’s best olive oils.

Tenuta La Novella: Hand-harvested while still green to preserve vibrant herbaceous aromas. Expect bold notes of artichoke, fresh-cut grass, and a distinctive bitter–spicy balance.

If you are interested in trying both the wines and olive oil, we have the perfect bundle for you. Our Premium Christmas Bundle includes one red, one white wine, and one bottle of champagne, with complimentary olive oil. Ideal for yourself or for gifting to family, friends, and colleagues.
