After an incredible run of spicy stops, saucy stories, and finger-lickin’ fun, we’re hitting pause on our chicken wing tours for a little while.

This isn’t goodbye — just a pit stop. We’re cooking up some fresh ideas behind the scenes and will be back with even more flavour in a different style soon. 🔥

That Friday feeling is all . Our Wingfest special today is their buffalo with a pickle slice and their Siracha butter wild wing. All flats; Yes Please 🙏

🦬 🥒The Buffalo Wing, is a glistening masterpiece of buffalo and blue cheese sauce, these wings don a rich, tangy blue cheese ranch that’s as unapologetic as a storm at sea. The chives are more garnish than flavour mostly for the ‘gram, but the pickled celery adds a smart, crunchy bite that cuts through the sauce’s indulgence. This is a wing that sticks to its American roots but with a refinement that’s undeniably British.

🌶️ 🧈 Enter the Wild Wing, a symphony of sriracha butter, crispy shallots, and the surprise of pickled gari. It’s an international affair: the buttery richness holds court while the heat from the sriracha slowly builds. Crispy shallots add texture and a delicate crisp, a whisper of sweetness among the tangy, citrus notes from the lime. The pickled ginger, a nod to its East Asian influences, offers a cleansing, palate-resetting finish. It’s a rebellious, cross-cultural offering that pays off in spades.

Our spotlight shines on , the new kid on the Tooting block, armed with tandoor wings to fired up from the heat of a clay oven.

These triple, tandoor style wings strutted their stuff like runway models and makes me wonder whether they’ve been secretly practicing poses in the mirror. The dry rub attire accentuates every curve, abundantly scattered atop the wing. As triples, they are big, bold and unapologetically meaty.

These wings are like the James Bond of poultry—suave, mysterious, and dripping with intrigue. Juicy throughout, they flirt with your taste buds, leaving you yearning for more.

Ah, the skin—the overcoat that holds the whole ensemble together. With softness resonating from the griddled blanket to the crunchy, caramelized flavour bombs the textures pop with each bite. These wings waltz with sweet sauce, creating a symphony of crunch. Clumps of sugar burst forth like flavour fireworks, surprising your palate with pockets of joy It’s like biting into a golden treasure chest filled with sweet secrets.

And now, the pièce de résistance—the sauce. Brace yourselves, my friends, for we’re diving headfirst into sweet, sticky date molasses. This sauce isn’t just caramelized; it’s been slow dancing with flavour for hours. As it coats the wings, it whispers tales of ancient spice markets and moonlit rendezvous. The result? A taste that’s both familiar and exotic—a tango of sweet and smoky, with a hint of intrigue.

This week we’re featuring in our wing of the week. We were invited down to taste their wing range last week after recently opening a new restaurant in Hackney.

🌶️🫑 🍗 🫑🌶️
Influenced by a recent trip to Lisbon, for me it was that Portuguese style, flame kissed, Piri-Piri wing that came out top. Normally I’m a fried fella, but this wing hit every spot from textures through to flavours. Each wing is steam cooked to perfection culminating in juicy, succulent meat. They’re then flame kissed on service turning the skin into a smokey, charred blanket of flavours. Finally it’s slathered in homemade piri-piri sauce made-up of a secret combination of roasted veg, herbs and spices. It’s fresh, vibrant and absolutely banging. If I was going to convert from fried to grilled, it would be for this wing.

With two of us visiting, and a missing WotW from last week, we’re adding a second addition to Wing of the Week! Rabia handpicked this one from the selection and chose the Garlic Parm wing. Each of the wings on this plate, were big, fat and juicy. The batter was varied in flavour and accompanied with a little heat that sits on the palate as your tastebuds pop. The crunch? On point. The sound of each bite like the crunch of autumnal leaves on the first day of September. Each of the wings was tossed in a garlic butter like sauce, bringing back nostalgic memories of TV dinners with a Chicken Kiev (or several) warming my lap. To top it off the wings are dusted with parmesan cheese, providing the thickening agent to mop any residual sauce up from the plate. It’s a bold claim, but this was Rabia’s best garlic wing EVER. Which is your favourite garlic parm wing?
