Anavo has created four leadership opportunities to lead, inspire and make a difference at Newark Care Home in Port Glasgow. ✨

As we prepare to open a newly refurbished community, we’re recruiting four Senior Care Coordinators – Unit Leads to help shape daily life within the home.

Each Senior Care Coordinator will lead their own community, support and develop colleagues, and work closely with residents and families to deliver care that reflects each person’s needs, wishes and choices.

That can mean helping someone build confidence, rediscover something they love or, in our resident Pauline’s case, enjoy her first holiday abroad at 58. Her trip to Spain began with a team who listened and worked together to make it happen.

If you’re an experienced care professional ready to take the next step, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re delighted to announce that Anavo's Sandstone Brook in Whitchurch and Lindridge Care Home in Hove have achieved independent certification from Care Inspections UK (CIUK), following assessments against British Standard BS8606:2019 covering care, safety and employment practices.

Sue Dutton, Registered Manager at Sandstone Brook, described it as “a wonderful endorsement of the hard work and commitment of our whole team.”

At Lindridge, Registered Manager Alex Mendonca echoed that pride: “This certification belongs to the entire team.”

For both homes, this recognition provides additional reassurance for residents and families, alongside a benchmark to support continued improvement.

Congratulations to Sue, Alex and every colleague who contributed to these achievements. Thank you for the care and dedication you bring to your homes each day.

✨ Spark of the Month ✨

A huge congratulations to Natasha Birch, Activity Coordinator at Anavo’s Marlborough House, for being recognised as our Spark of the Month!

Natasha brings enthusiasm, positivity and a proactive approach to everything she does. Her commitment makes a meaningful difference to residents’ daily lives, and seeing the impact on them and their loved ones is a joy for the team.

Her nomination captured it perfectly: “Marlborough House is a better place for everyone when she’s here!”

That dedication was also recognised during the home’s recent CQC inspection, when the Lead Inspector described Natasha as the “Stand out Person”.

Thank you, Natasha, for the energy and care you bring to Marlborough House, and for helping make it such a positive place for residents, families and colleagues. 💚

We’re proud that Anavo’s senior leadership team were finalists at the Social Care Leadership Awards 2026.

The nomination recognised their commitment to improving established care homes, developing new homes in areas of need and investing in the people who deliver care every day.

It highlighted the team’s work at Lindridge Care Home in Hove, where improvements to the environment, investment in colleagues and stronger local partnerships have supported meaningful progress since joining Anavo in 2024.

While we didn’t take home the award, we’re delighted to see that work recognised. Thank you to our colleagues across Anavo, whose dedication brings our leadership team’s ambitions to life.

Congratulations to all the winners and fellow finalists. It’s a privilege to be recognised alongside people working so hard to improve social care.

Helen’s career has taken her from working as a holiday representative across europe to organising events and supporting families in care. Wherever she’s worked, she’s found the most joy in getting to know people and helping them feel welcome.

Her move into care came unexpectedly, when an interview for an administration job led to a role as a Home Admissions Advisor. Over the past six years, she discovered how much she loved getting to know residents and their families. Remembering someone’s story, stopping for a chat or checking in after they’ve moved in are all part of how Helen builds those relationships.

Now, Helen has joined Anavo’s Homewell Spring in Havant. She’s looking forward to working alongside Home Manager Panagiota, helping families feel at ease and opening the doors to lasting connections with the local community. ✨

Supporting residents to live life on their own terms is central to our approach at Anavo.

For Pauline, a resident at our Newark Care Home, this meant fulfilling her wish to visit Spain and enjoying her first holiday abroad at 58.

Through thoughtful preparation and close collaboration with Pauline and her social worker, the team helped make the trip possible, with her choices guiding every stage.

Her experience reflects our belief that good care should open up possibilities. To read to the full story, please go to:https://www.anavogroup.com/newark-care-home-fulfils-residents-dream-of-an-aboard-holiday/

Panagiota's passion for care began at home in Greece, where her family looked after her great-grandparents as they lived with dementia. Even when their behaviour changed, they were still the people she knew and loved. That has stayed with her throughout her career.

After qualifying as a nurse, she volunteered at a clinic supporting refugees before moving to the UK. She’s since worked across dementia care, complex nursing and care home leadership, always guided by the belief that people should be able to keep doing the things that bring them joy.

Now, Panagiota is looking forward to welcoming the Homewell Spring team and creating a place where colleagues feel they belong and residents can live life on their own terms. ✨

Our 'Miles That Matter' challenge may have come to an end, but we’re grateful for the way all 16 of our homes, residents, colleagues, families and local communities came together in support of The Care Workers' Charity.

From the 12th to 19th September, they walked, danced, ran, cycled and swam more than 30,000 miles, far beyond our original 500-mile goal, which represented the distance between all Anavo’s homes.

Every home made the challenge its own. Residents joined garden walks, danceathons and seated movement sessions, with activities adapted so they could take part in ways that worked for them.

Our founders Ed and Jamie and Development Director Chris completed a 260-mile cycle between six homes, finishing at Homewell Spring in Havant. Commercial Director Simon and colleagues also completed a half marathon.

Thank you to everyone who took part, organised an activity, donated or cheered someone on. Take a look at the highlights below, and read the full story here: https://www.anavogroup.com/anavo-covers-30000-miles-for-the-care-workers-charity/

What a way to launch the Homewell Spring Marketing Suite in Havant! 🎉

Homewell Spring became the finish line for Anavo Group’s directors as they completed their incredible 450km 'Miles That Matter' cycling challenge in support of The Care Workers' Charity. 🚴

The Mayor and Mayoress of Havant welcomed the cyclists and presented them with medals, while Feltham Construction, who are building Homewell Spring, made a generous £1,000 donation to the charity.

We were also delighted to welcome Carole and Naomi from Havant Borough Council’s Community Team as we continue building strong relationships across our new community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the launch such a memorable occasion. To read the full press release, please go to: https://www.anavogroup.com/new-havant-care-home-supports-community-and-charity-ahead-of-opening/
