A walk in the Black Mountain (Western Beacons), starting at Pont Ar Wysg car park, this moorland walk takes in the moorland hill summits of Twyn Perfedd and Foel Darw. The route from the car park turns south via the Mynydd Wysg forest. We then bag a third moorland summit after lunch called Fedw Fawr, this is west of the Usk reservoir.

Great walking and vast moorland views, very enjoyable day good weather. Very quiet , only one other person seen all day.

I’m having a day off today, so my wife Katie is going to take you up the Skirrid Fawr. A popular hill walk near Abergavenny in the Eastern Brecon Beacons. Tourist path route. Enjoy

Walking an outlier hill in the Abercraf area of the southwest Brecon Beacons. Pen Rhiw Llwythau was one of the hardest small hills I’ve ever done. Not easy to get to and one route got completely lost. Summited on second attempt but extremely boggy and chose off piste rough fence hopping farmland descent.

Not the most enjoyable walk but good exercise and another Beacons hill ticked off!

Cribarth - Winter Adventure

Winters hike up Cribarth, a hill that dominates the head of the Swansea Valley in the southwestern Brecon Beacons. Amazing landscape up there , one of the best hill walks in the area. A real little big mountain. Walk from Abercraf. Also visited the minor satellite moorland summit Garreg Fawr. Some snow and winter conditions.
