Recently, we joined a wonderful international celebration of and 60 years of winemaking 🍷

Alongside events taking place across Florence, Dubai, Dublin, Berlin, Stockholm and beyond, we gathered at York Minster Refectory with Sara from Mondavi to taste through the wines, paired with canapés from the kitchen.

We then connected live with the winery for a Q&A with winemaker Kurtis Ogasawara, hearing more about the wines, the newly reopened winery following its major refurbishment, and the special anniversary release created to mark this milestone year.

To round off the day, each city voted for its wine of the day before sharing results live across the global event.

A brilliant way to celebrate the legacy and lasting influence Robert Mondavi continues to have across the wine world.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this week for the Enotria Tasting Tour in London and Newcastle 🍷

Across both events, it was fantastic to bring together customers and producers to taste, share stories and explore wines from around the world in person.

Events like these are a reminder of how valuable face-to-face time really is. Creating opportunities for customers to connect directly with producers, ask questions and build lasting relationships is a big part of what we do - and something we’re always proud to facilitate.

This year marks 10 years of partnership with 🍷

Over the past decade, we’ve been proud to work alongside this pioneering Patagonian producer, sharing their wines with customers across the UK.

Founded in 1909, Humberto Canale is one of Patagonia’s most historic wineries, producing elegant wines from the cool, windswept vineyards of Argentina’s Río Negro Valley. Their Old Vine Malbec, Pinot Noir and Riesling continue to showcase the unique character of this remarkable region.

A fantastic milestone to celebrate together, and one we look forward to continuing to nurture.

At Enotria, we are extremely proud to work with some incredible on-trade businesses across the UK. Restaurants, pubs and bars are at the heart of communities up and down the country, but we have seen first-hand how mounting operating costs are piling pressure on our on-trade partners. Every single day, three hospitality businesses are forced to close their doors for good.

After the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, the cost-of-living crisis and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, it’s time to give the hospitality sector a break.

That's why Majestic Wine Group Executive Chairman John Colley, Enotria CEO Phillip White and colleagues across the business have shown their support to – a nationwide campaign led by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, calling for a cut in VAT to 10% for hospitality operators.

As the campaign sets out in its manifesto: “A lower rate of VAT will reduce the cost pressures facing our sector, and it will mean more venues are able to stay open, rather than close the doors for good. Because when hospitality businesses close, communities lose far more than places to eat and drink – they lose connection, opportunity and local identity.”

Excited to see .london officially open its doors in Shoreditch last month 🍣

Set within the Aethos Hotel, Mitsu brings a fresh take on the Japanese izakaya experience to East London, with bold interiors, robata and kushikatsu dishes, an impressive cocktail programme and plenty of personality throughout.

We’re proud to be supplying 100% of the wine list from launch, alongside a selection of spirits, and a huge congratulations goes to our colleague Stefano Pasqual for the work behind the scenes in bringing the partnership together.

As Stefano puts it, “Mitsu feels like East Tokyo meets East London - the food, drinks and atmosphere are completely different to anywhere else in the city. From whisky highballs and sake on draught to the karaoke room with its own tequila vending machine, there’s something unexpected around every corner.”
