Taty’s Cookies review pt.1!

When an exciting cookie pop-up overlaps with your dinner plans at Bluewater 🙌🏻 Taty’s Cookies is at Bluewater for this weekend only (run there today if you’re nearby!) 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻

We got 6 to try, but have only tried 3 so far! So the first 3 we’re reviewing are:

🍪 Dubai Chocolate Pistachio - Adam’s fave! Perfect combo of smooth pistachio cream, rich double choc cookie base, and crunchy kataifi pastry sprinkled on top

🍪 True Lovers - Helena’s fave, poss because it takes the decision out of double choc or choc chip 😅 This one is half rich chocolate cookie, half buttery vanilla cookie, loaded with dark, milk & white choc chips, stuffed milk & white chocolate spreads.

🍪 Gold Caramel - We both really enjoyed this one. Vanilla cookie loaded with dark choc chips, golden caramel chunks and crunchy pecan nuts, stuffed with smooth Gold Caramel cream.

Invite • Seems like summer’s over, so we’re back to craving cosy desserts like this absolute feast at Urban Chocolatier | London.

A couple of these would not have been things we’d have usually ordered, but will 100% be ordering again!

🥐 Croissant Pudding - so yum
🍞 Tiramisu French Toast - which came with delicious melted chocolate to pour over!
🥣 Cereal Milk Cookie Dough - still one of our fave desserts of the year!
🍏 Apple Crumble - Adam loved this!

🍫 The most chocolatey chocolate pie

Booked this restaurant purely for the chocolate pie after seeing it in a million ‘best choc desserts in NYC’ posts, and it didn’t disappoint! So rich with a yummy choccy biscuit base. Literally H’s ideal dessert (once the cream had been scraped off 🫣😅). The lemon meringue was also justtt as epic as it looks!

The savoury food was also INCREDIBLE. The monkey bread is a MUST (despite the $34.99 pricetag! 🤑), the steak tartare came highlyyy recommended, and the fillet steak was possibly the best dish of the whole trip 🥩 Cooked to perfection and delicious flavours 👌🏼

Apparently this restaurant is super hard to get a reservation at (somehow we didn’t struggle?! Maybe as we wanted a weekday lunch…) so get it on your NY list but get it booked early! 🚨

Where do Spanish people take their sick pets? El Vet 🙊🥁

Invite • Still thinking about this meal at ELVET® 😍📍

We were blown away by their epic drinks, beautifully-crafted dishes, gorge decor, and friendly service. Ticks in all boxes! ☑️

Highlights from what we tried include:
🍚 Crispy rice starter
🧀 The boujee-est halloumi
🐔 Herby chicken meatball
🍄‍🟫 Truffle arancini (loved that it wasn’t creamy!)
🐑 Lamb chops
🥩 Tasty steak
🐔 Spicy chicken
🥬 H was a bit obsessed with the cabbage

The desserts were also a pleasant surprise! Neither would’ve been our usual choice ( ) but Adam enjoyed the dulce de leche cheesecake, and the other went sooo well with all the caramel sauce 😍

The mocktails really stole the show though! They have a whole ‘For the socials’ section on their menu which were all so impressively creative 👏🏼🏆

H saw stuartthornleycakedesign on John's Snack Reviews’ story last year and RAN to the website as literally everything on the menu was right up Adam’s street! Here are 2 of his faves - hoping these are available again this year?!

The most STUNNING ‘signature’ dessert, in look and taste, at , London📍

This was their ‘100% Chocolate Chef’s Signature’ dessert in their ‘from the counter’ section. Described as: Almond dacquoise, chocolate sponge, cocoa praline, 66% dark chocolate crémeux, gianduja creme brûlée 😍😍

So many yummy flavours and textures going on - certainly not cheap at £18 (!) but it’s defo big/indulgent enough to share (not that Helena did 😂🐽). They also do a 100% vanilla version which seemed to be v.popular!

We had this after dinner (also delicious) and sadly, despite grand plans, couldn’t quite manage (or afford 😂) their £24 famous hot chocolate as well! Will need to go back for that when hot choc szn kicks in!

Can you find a bangin burger in Majorca? Yes you Can Mate(vet) - Ca'n Matevet | Restaurante & Vermutería 📍

While on our hols in Alcudia this week, although we were all inclusive at our hotel, we couldn’t resist a couple of nights out for dinner - so we found Can Matevet by the Port which looked good and had great reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Adam obvs got the double smash burger which he was v.impressed by! Cooked really well (medium), great fresh burger patties, a squishy brioche bun, and his ideal toppings including bacon and cheese 💪🏼

H is always on the hunt for a veggie paella when in Spain 🇪🇸 (she don’t eat seafood), and all the Tripadvisor reviews raved about this restaurant’s paella so that was a no brainer 🧠

Both dishes were delish - they also had some great looking desserts, but the service was on the slower side, so we ran out of time as needed to get back to the hotel to try to win the nightly quiz 😂

The ‘Pink Love’ cocktail was H’s fave of the week too - even though it was gin-based which isn’t usually her top choice 🍹

Doughn’t you wish your desserts were hot like ours 🍪

This was hald of our 6 cookie pie slices for £20 haul box from DoughGirl 😍

These were SO good. They say you can eat them hot or cold - so we tried both, and honestly couldn’t decide which we preferred, so they were all delicious, whichever way they were served! 🤤😋

The 3 flavours here are:

💛 Rolo Cookie Pie Slice
🤎 Salted Caramel Brownie Cookie Pie Slice
