🇫🇷 At Astrum, we may be known for Italy, but our French portfolio is no side project. It’s a carefully selected collection of growers producing wines that are serious, expressive and compelling. And right now, Gamay is leading that charge.

✍️ Neal Martin’s latest Vinous report, Gamayzing: Beaujolais New Releases (May 2026), highlights two of these fantastic producers, Domaine Azzara and Domaine Raphaël Chopin: both making wines of real character, energy and, crucially for the trade, outstanding value.

Why Eastern Slovenia is one of Central Europe’s great unsung wine regions 🇸🇮

In a recent Decanter article, Caroline Gilby MW underlined why Eastern Slovenia is such a compelling home for Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting Verus Sauvignon Blanc 2025, she wrote:

🗣️ “A great example of why Eastern Slovenia is a special place for Sauvignon. It’s beautifully expressive with jasmine, fresh cut grass and a touch of crushed nettle on the nose. It’s nicely juicy, with a touch of passion fruit, mineral and pure, with mouthwatering zippy freshness.”

Happy International Riesling Day! ✨

Today we’re celebrating one of Italy’s most compelling expressions of the grape: Langhe Riesling ‘Hérzu’ from Ettore Germano.

🫶 Why we love it:

Germano’s Hérzu Riesling is precise, mineral and beautifully focused, with layers of ripe citrus, stone fruit and a driving acidity that gives the wine real energy and longevity. It’s serious Riesling, shaped by place—proof that Piedmont’s precision translates beautifully to Riesling.

This is a benchmark for Italian Riesling, and a firm favourite of ours at the table. 💛

🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 The Qu***ia Italian Classics celebrate family recipes lovingly passed down through four generations, capturing the essence of Italian craftsmanship and tradition.

👉 This Amaretto is made from an infusion of bitter almonds with alcohol, together with a selection of herbs and spices and sugar.

🥃 Amber colored, with a soft, fragrant and velvety taste. The elegance of the almond oil delights the palate, accompanied by the final fruity and vanilla notes. Excellent at the end of a meal, perfect on ice cream and in cocktails.

📍From Cascina Tetti in La Morra, Barolo Monsorí presents a poised and inviting expression of Nebbiolo—one that gracefully bridges tradition and modernity.

🍷 Perfumed, elegant, and finely structured, it offers remarkable value with both immediate appeal and excellent ageing potential.

🍇 Barolo Monsorí comes from young vines of around 10–12 years old, in the prized La Morra hills. The grapes are estate-grown and hand-harvested. Fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, with a traditional 25-27 day maceration on the skins. The wine matures for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks.
