Lunch will be three courses created with skill and imagination by the highly talented Executive Chef from the seasonally changing, modern European menu. W**e pairings will be provided by the sommeliers.

Those IWFS London Branch members who were able to make it spent a hugely enjoyable weekend in Manchester at the Europe and Africa region AGM and members forum. We were treated to exceptionally good food and w**e in some iconic Manchester venues. It was great to meet so many colleagues from around the region and to make new friends.

A huge thank-you to our hosts, the Manchester branch of IWFS, for such a warm welcome and such fine hospitality.

IWFS London members are very much looking forward to tasting some exceptional mature w**es courtesy of a longstanding IWFS member and member of the National Guild of W**e and B**r Judges.

An uncatalogued case, discovered in the member’s cellar, was found to contain a number of real treasures. Maturity is the unifying factor and the makers vary from world-famous to little known. One rarely gets to taste an English sparkling w**e 26 years old, or a Barolo 50 years old. The flight of sweet w**es includes Vin de Constance, once the most famous w**e in the world, and a Vin Santo by Contini Bonacossi.

Nyetimber Premiére Cuvée Chardonnay Brut, Blanc de Blancs, 2000, West Sussex
Vigneto Villero Castiglione Barolo, Ceretto, Alba, Italy, 1976
R J Delatite Limited Edition Reserve Blend 2006, Victoria, Australia
Château Léoville Barton 2001, Saint-Julien, Bordeaux
The Paradox 2007, Bothy Vineyards, Frilford Heath, Oxfordshire
Rooibergse Koop Wygnmakery Muskadel Superior, 1986 Vinkrivier, Robertson, South Africa
Banchereau Coteaux du Layon Saint-Aubin de Luigné 1988
Domaine de L’Ancienne Cure, Montbazilliac Cuvée Abbaye 1995
Vin de Constance, 2000, Klein Constantia, South Africa
Capezzana Vin Santo de Carmignano Reserve, 2003, Nobil Casa Contini Bonacossi

The tasting will be accompanied by a cold buffet.
