This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Luca Roagna from Roagna to the Armit office for a tasting of the estate’s 2020 Barolos and Barbarescos.

A fifth-generation w**emaker, Luca has firmly established himself as one of the leading figures of modern Piedmont. His approach is rooted in a deep respect for the land, with old vines, massale selection, and biodiversity at the heart of his w**emaking approach.

The 2020 vintage is truly outstanding. These w**es have a beautiful purity and are brimming with energy and precision. Antonio Galloni praises the release, stating “magnificent set of new w**es from Luca Roagna,” highlighting their “classicism”. We wholeheartedly agree.

These are exceptional w**es that deserve serious attention.

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Luca Roagna from Roagna to the Armit office for a tasting of the estate’s 2020 Barolos and Barbarescos.

Recent scores from w**e critic James Suckling reflect impressive results across the **es range, and we are delighted to see these Mendoza w**es receiving the recognition they so richly deserve. Fed by pure Andean meltwater and rooted in mature vineyards, Mendel W**es is a family-owned partnership between Roberto de la Mota - one of Argentina’s most respected and experienced w**emakers - and the Sielecki family. Situated at 1,000 metres above sea level, the vineyards benefit from a long, slow ripening season, allowing the grapes to develop remarkable depth and intensity of flavour. Last week, Curious Vines hosted its ‘Performance Under Stress’ psychology workshop, providing mindset support as part of their MW, Road to MS and WSET D3 programme for their Support Award recipients. A highly commendable initiative led by , we were delighted to be able to support such a meaningful and impactful programme.

The workshop was designed to help students perform at their best, both in examinations and in practice, by equipping them with practical tools and techniques to manage stress and overcome performance barriers.

This week, we were delighted to welcome Chiara and Marco from **es, the newest addition to the Armit portfolio. Situated on the southern edge of Chianti Classico, Fèlsina is a historic estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga, an area renowned for producing Sangiovese of remarkable depth, structure and richness.

We were fortunate to taste the full range, from the beautifully poised Chardonnay, which was fresh, mineral and subtly creamy, through to the 10-year-aged Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Occhio di Pernice, which was truly exceptional: revealing notes of maraschino cherry and salted caramel, layered with savoury, spicy complexity. A w**e that left a lasting impression on the entire team.

Naturally, Fèlsina is best known for its precise, pure and expressive Chianti Classico and Gran Selezione w**es, crafted exclusively from 100% Sangiovese, which eloquently capture their terroir.

Last night, we had the pleasure of hosting a very special evening with Bernhard Ott of .at at , featuring his exceptional Grüner Veltliners from Austria’s Wagram and Kamptal regions.

Founded in 1889, the Ott estate has long been dedicated to crafting expressive, handcrafted Grüner Veltliner. The range showcases the variety’s remarkable versatility - from bright, youthful expressions to the more complex and structured w**es from the celebrated single-vineyard (Ried) sites.

It was an honour to welcome Bernhard to London to share his deep insight into these acclaimed w**es and the philosophy behind the estate.
