It was truly an honour to join members of the Indian diaspora for a warm meet-and-greet with the newly appointed High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, Periasamy Kumaran. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, shared memories, and a collective sense of pride in celebrating India’s growing global presence and cultural spirit.

It was especially wonderful to welcome Mr. Kumaran once again, having had the privilege of knowing him since 2019 during his distinguished tenure as India’s Ambassador to Qatar from 2016–2020. We were deeply honoured to have His Excellency inaugurate our Indian restaurant at The St. Regis Doha, Rivaaj Doha and later had the pleasure of hosting both him and Mrs. Kumaran at Shikar Singapore Shikar The Great Indian during his tenure as the High Commissioner of India to Singapore from 2020–2023. Each interaction over the years has reflected his grace, warmth, and unwavering commitment to strengthening India’s ties across the world.

We now look forward to welcoming him to The Great Indian, London, where we hope he will once again enjoy the authentic flavours and timeless delicacies of Magical India.
